I guess I’m curious about Reed man. Cause I don’t know reed in the comics, and I loved Ian in the 2000s FF movies , like loved. And Pedro is a great actor but is the problem just the look of his face? Like was MBJ as JStorm a bad casting? Or he’s a hunky jock so it works even without the “look”? Cause Pedro playing smartest person alive could definitely sell right?? Love
This is an awful casting. But, you know what? I am not surprised. Feige should’ve been fired a long time ago. Am I the only person on the planet that liked the Fox F4 movies from 20 years ago? Get that cast back. That was a great cast, and good writing.
Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastico and his old lady (literally) Sue Storm looking sharp in her New Balance shoes. Arrrgh, this will bomb too, followed by toxic fan blaming. I'm guessing this won't be an origin story as everyone listed is pretty f'n old. Pedro is 48, Vanessa is 35, Ebon is 47, and Joseph is 30! They're all more than a little long in the tooth. Marvel gotta Marvel ya know. Is it really super hero fatigue or is it just bad decisions?
Pedro's fine, he's great, he's just not my first pick. Maybe not the second either, but he is the safe choice lol. Me personally, Andrew Lincoln screams Reed to me. The rest of the cast tho, A+
Love the casting. In terms of charm, and quality alone, it's all there. At this point, seeing how Pascal casting is the one drawing more attention, it is clear that it is not about comic book accuracy, and it is just skin deep issues. After so many years, and characters having being adapted, seeing how varied and distinct some can be from the comics, and worked great, it becomes clear that the problem is not what is being said. I wish people were, at the very least, honest about what bothers them, really.
I’m massive relieved! When they talked about not having a ‘white’ FF and especially non-black Reed, as a comic purist I was worried and sad. I wanted classic FF and had no need to race swap the team I’ve loved since childhood. So with that I’m just delighted they have a great actor who is close enough. Reed has had several looks over the 60 yrs btw with a more masculine less egghead look in the mid 60s. I’ll take this Reed all said and done
Pedro shave the mouthtasche 1964 love the logo and shade of blue, Thing looks great will the Human Torch look 60's or 90's Sue Storm needs big 60's hair looking forward to seeing the Baxter building.
Honestly, I already got over a non-white Reed, and also a Reed played by an actor that doesn’t exude intelligence. At this point if the dynamic between the characters is right, and the story is great, I’m all in. My first impression looking at that pic is I felt good FF vibes, so I’m cautiously optimistic. Try not to get hung up on the casting. Remember when Heath was announced as the actors playing Joker in TDK? Yeah, NO ONE liked that, and we all kno what happened… At the same time though, I understand people don’t want to let Marvel cook here, given their recent track record. This needs to be an absolute hit, or the negative backlash will tarnish the brand beyond repair imo.
A high profile scientist from South America hooking up with a sepulcher-white woman in the 1960s? Mmmm maybe? I guess Desi loved Lucy but damn this relationship would have its trials.

pedro wouldnt have been my pick, but hes 10x the actor john krasinski is any day of the week so im happy with this casting
