Could it be that the battleship was a diversion to "lock" your ships in place until the faster squadrons could flank you? That was quite ballsy.
That's usually the best play with a beam BB. You can ensure your team wins without inflicting a single point of damage yourself; you just need to capitalize on your 5 km radius sphere of death to push the enemy off points and lock them in place for teammates.
It is a good idea. One of a battleships main roles is to be seen and tank hits that other ships can’t. It’s why battleships being kept in port all the time in WW1 and WW2 was such a waste.
A battleship has the armour, DR and DC to survive heavy damage for a good while if played right. Meaning it can be used as a good distraction as a 450 bulker focusing you does moderate damage while it’d absolutely demolish Vaux’s or Ax’s which are extremely important.

I’ve played this map before. I was playing a Gun BB where i pushed B point and held it while my teammate supported me from a distance (railstones).

Nice match! Shame about the anticlimactic outcome, but it's a nice display of the new BB's abilities. I thought for sure you were a goner when those torp boats came up behind you, but it worked out. What would you have brought to fight those Sprinters? It looked like the S2s were doing the job until the BB became a more pressing target.
Nice game! Makes we really wish I could play, but my game always freezes/crashes at the start of a match.

1:16 you split the guns into two groups although they are on the same side? Why is that?
Flexibility, you can engage two different targets Or engage the same target with different ammunition

It's really useful on things like CLs where you want to be using RPF on multiple targets.
