Ok ok people. I believe, nothing was said about guizhong being Zhongli's lover. Hell even google mistook her as Zhongli's lover since it was said she was one of his closest friends. And no, it was not stated that Zhongli killed her. All of these lover stuff and murder stuff are not canon AS OF NOW. Some time later the two along with Marchosias (now Guoba) founded the Guili Assembly which is presumably the court of gods that governed over the people in the Guili plains- Her, Zhongli and Marchosias' worshippers. During the archon war, there was a fierce battle over the Guili plains. Guizhong was a clever administrator and highly intelligent, but she wasn't good at combat- she died defending the Guili plains before Zhongli and the others could reach her. The five Yakshas sealed her remains away because the remains of dead gods are destructive and harmful to mortals. Marchosias then split himself into several smaller selves, giving up his power and intelligence until he lost himself, became very weak and went into hibernation. Before he left though, he, Zhongli and the adepti got the people from the Guili plains to the coast and founded Liyue Harbor

Trust me there are more than enough hints. Zhongli formed an alliance with her without a contract, he upheld her final wish for 3600 years, he planted Glaze Lilies all over Liyue Harbor for her, he kept her dumbbell with himself for 3600+ years, he planned his funeral in the way Guizhong would have done it, he changed himself for her to lead their people in the future. He did all of this only for Guizhong and none of his other friends that perished, he was there by her side when she died which he didn't do for any Adeptus in the past. If these aren't enough hints for you then you are delusional.

Fun fact: zhongli’s meteorite is actually a dumbbell given by his lover/close friend (guizhong)One day (before she died) she gave a sphere shaped dumbbell to zhongli and said it contained all her wisdom/knowledge inside it and told him that maybe someday he would be able to open it. After she died zhongli tried and tried again to open the dumbbell but to no avail. He so then carries that dumbbell around him everywhere because it was the only thing that reminded him of her.

Characters that died in lore and enemies never will be playable characters (meaning you don’t have to wait for signora, all archons during archon war, other 4 yaksha (sort of xiao’s colleagues), all hilichurls, fatui harbingers that will show no mercy to traveler (tartaglia won’t be that combat active or even dare to straight away attack us again, but he had opportunity to literally go and attack us during sumeru, and plus we already did “I have no enemies” on him, and he became playable), and Guizhong).
But our “allies” will be playable in the future (for example, dainsleif. Even though he got the abyss/not-in-game-element, he still got confirmed to be playable because he is our ally)
