I watched Soul Train every single Saturday at noon. Then I would go dancing and try to remember all the steps from the dancers. I'm sure your grandmother and I danced and had fun to the same exact songs back in our day. The 70's American Bandstand, and Soul Train were our M.T.V. My dear you would have loved it all. I love your grandmother. 70's music was the very definition of soul music, there was always a relatable story and they sang from the soul and you felt It in your soul. We will never have music like that again.
Don Cornelius was a staple on Saturday morning in my house. Soul Train introduced me to so much r&b and soul and funk. This is coming from a white 49 yr old truck driver. Music like this taught me that I can enjoy and appreciate everything no matter my background. Stay the course on this journey you’re on. You’ll appreciate it even more later in life as you share with your kids and grandchildren like I do. Keep pushing.👍👍
