It just goes to show that you don't have to be in deep water to be attacked by sharks. The ocean is their territory though. Once you enter that water, you're no longer top of the food chain. They are.
Dreamdog1120 You’re absolutely correct! I live on the east coast in Florida close to Cocoa Beach. I remember about 20 years ago one of the local news stations flew along the beach and filmed right at the shore line. Even I was *shocked* by the number of sharks that were swimming around people who were in waist deep water. It was nice to hear Paige say that once you enter the ocean you’re in *their* house, because that really is the case. I am absolutely aware of that every time I enter the ocean. So many people hear these stories and won’t go in the ocean anymore. Realistically though, the chance of getting attacked by a shark is extremely low. The only time I won’t get in the ocean past ankle deep is at night. The one and only time I went swimming in the ocean at night, I got stung by a jellyfish in my groan. That hurt like hell! That was about 20 years ago and I’ve never swam in the ocean at night since. Now I just walk the beach at night enjoying watching the giant sea turtles nesting on the beach. 🐢 🌊

Sadly, you are spot on. It gets much harder as you go back to the day by day and the attention dies down and the shock wears off. She'll need a good support system and probably some mental health support. This was my experience after a serious diagnosis, anyway.
Elle Bee I definitely have. I was dropped from 15 feet in the air rehearsing a ballet and fractured both my legs. I also had a concussion and slipped three discs in my back, my spinal nerves were badly pinched and I couldn’t walk for three months. Once I wasn’t in pain the shock made me seem so happy and motivated but within a few months of not being able to do anything and having surgeries and getting injections constantly for pain, I became very depressed and suicidal. I was addicted to my antidepressants after a while as well as the pain killers the pain management “doctor” gave me. It took a long time to get clean and rehab and I’m back to normal but it’s very hard when something happens that takes your free will away. It’s hard to become dependent out of nowhere when it isn’t your fault. I commend her for handling it this well but you’re right I hope she doesn’t end up where I did. Lots of people don’t make it out of the drain once they start circling it. I hope her doctors aren’t drug dealers like mine were too.
I'm sure she did as well pretty bad.. I was in a very severe rollover car accident in 2013 that caused me to flip down the mountain, and I was tossed inside the SUV I was driving multiple times and everything from my neck to my feet were severely fractured. 56 fractures total. I still remember the sound of hearing my bones break. She was lucky she went into shock where she didnt feel the pain, it is apparently very common to be knocked out due to the pain, and I wasnt lucky enough to be knocked out so I felt and remembered everything. I remember the trauma surgeons telling me I may never walk again and that they wouldn't know for about a year. It was devastating because I was so active/athletic. But I'm able to walk again but live in severe chronic pain 24/7 and dependent on a lot of medications, it sucks to not be able to do the physical things I did before the wreck but I am lucky to have not died.

Life is hard and the only thing that helps me sometimes is trying to fine the silver lining. This past summer a 21 year old kid working construction on a building by where I work fell off and broke his neck, he'll definitely never walk again so I guess all you can try to do is be grateful your accident wasn't even worse.

The dad said her leg was almost gone so I’m guessing there wasn’t much skin there, just some muscle and bone.

This child is still under the impact of trauma .. and try to act positively, but unfortunately she will undergo a state of severe depression and will need intensive psychological treatment what happened to her is terrible .. My heart with this girl❤
