    dude I love you.... I had so much issues with the pitch and adjusting the linkages and servo points and all that bs... I thought about adjusting the servo travel a couple of times but never did it because it wasn't in the green after. Now I have to go back to my fleet and redo all of them again. Keep up with videos! Now I need to redo my Goblin 500 Raw again because I got full size servos instead of the mini's.

      I’m glad I could help! I have set up countless iKon FBLs and never had a single helicopter regardless of make manufacturer whatever that I was able to adjust linkages to get an equal positive and negative throw and not have other issues. I know if there are guys out there that will say the only way to do it is by adjusting your servo linkages and adjusting servo travel is not the right way. It’s the best way I have found that gets you all around perfect set up! It does make a huge difference when you have an equal throw especially on your flight performance and overall feel of the helicopter. Don’t worry! There will be plenty and plenty of videos to come! Thanks for watching!

    you have given me some great advice on my M1 setup. i have a question that might be FBL controller related. my swash at rest dips down slightly on the right. i have read that NO trims should be used. i was going to see if the servo arm could be moved 1 spline to be 90 deg. But saying that should you not use the tx servo centering function?

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m glad I could/can help! So never use radio trim tab with any FBL heli. You can move the servo one spline and see if that gets you where you need to go or go into the FBL and trim the servo that way. That is the best way to trim/adjust any servo is through the FBL unit. I just wanna make sure all servos are 90°/cleaners level and your radio has zero trim activated. Honestly it’s a great thing to get used to deactivating the trim tabs in your radio because sometimes you might accidentally hit one and not know it and the helicopter will start to act weird.

    Great video Jeff. I saw your videos showing the build of the Kraken 580. I just did a build myself, and followed a few of your steps. Have seen the videos multiple times :) Quick question. Its my first real heli. At the moment im on training level, using the M2 Evo. I can do figure 8's, and a bit inverted flight and stuff. I still have so many questions coming into this new hobby. Im using a Radiomaster TX16 MkII. I see you are using more than 1 reciever, what is the advantage of that? And is it necessary to do?

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  ปีที่แล้ว

      Awesome! I hope the videos helped you with your build. So there is a few reasons. One, redundancy. Two signal strength and peace of mind knowing I have full signal no matter how the heli is in the flight. There is a lot of of carbon fiber and that blocks the signal. I also use a SRXL2 for telemetry so there is three satellite RX I use on a kraken model.

    Excellent video! Many thanks! Did you skip the check mark on using the Ikon governor with the different flying styles menu on purpose? Also, do you normally add a switch setting for tail gains at 45% 40% and 35% so you can adjust while flying? Also account for the motor poles divided by 2. Much appreciated and love all your awesome videos!

I have it set to my flight mode switch, and it’s not really so I can adjust while flying it’s just so I can have different game settings for the different head speed. Great that you touched on the pitch setup. It was a struggle with my raw. I had more positive pitch. Ended up editing the travel in the advanced menu to get it equal.
    Edit: how low do you think you can go with headspeed for sports flying.
    I'm running 2000- 2250- 2350 now but seeing you start at 1650 and 1850 that seems on the high side

    • @westhobbiesrc8051

      It’s some thing nobody touches on. I’ve touched on it in almost every Ikon setup video I’ve made because I see you that question all the time. And I know some people say just adjust the linkages until you get equal but you never will! So the initial head speed settings I put were to low. I ended up with 1850 RPM in normal mode and 2000 in Idle 1 and 2400 in Idle 2. I think 1800-2200 RPM is perfect for normal/sport flying.
