- We are going hiking into some of the numerous canyons surrounding Sedona Arizona. We will take a look at some native plants and discover the magic hidden in these canyons.

Tourism is ruining Sedona like it has ruined so many other beautiful places. Thank you for not telling where the ruins are. The less people who know the better. There already is not much left of them and in a few more years they wont be there at all.

I'm a beginner at backpacking and I'm wondering what you do to keep your dog safe from snakes. I live in the southeast and am around lots of trees, lakes, rivers, a mountains. In the hot summer months, snakes are everywhere. I have a small rat terrier mix and the only hiking experience she has is a few day hikes of about 5-6 miles or so. Very healthy dog, but she is also very curious. I'd like to take her on some over-nighters, but I was wondering what I can do to make sure she isn't bitten by a rattler, cotton mouth, or any other snake besides keeping her on the trail and on a tight leash.
They have snake classes to try and educate your dogs about the dangers in some areas. I would just leash him and tie him to your hip belt.

Thanks for the video. I know it is a challenge to make a quality video, so congratulations. I especially enjoyed your quotes from Thoreau and I think others (can't recall them all at the moment (short term memory issues now at age 70). Thoreau's essay, "Walking" is the heart of the matter. I highly recommend it. William Hazlitt is in the same class with "Why Distant Objects Please," and others by him on similar topics. I just started doing videos, and noise pollution does suck, when recording sound:( What mics/ sound recorders, you use?
jvc px 100 camera has 2 mics on it. I usually just set the camera on a rock and go.

Hi. Have you ever had Summit wear protective paw booties when hiking in the desert? One step on a jumping cholla and you would be tweezing his paws for days! Just curious... Really enjoy your videos. They are educational and informative... not just "I went here" and done. Thanks. Lisa
No, but I have him leashed so he doesn't go after a rabbit and come back looking like a cactus. I also him keep him in front of me and he quickly alerts me if something sticks in his paw...dogs pads are pretty tough and they never seem to go deep.
People should buy my "Impact" a James Grider novel on Amazon so I can afford a used car and afford to hike in places like this. It would be droll if James's fifteen year old sister Carmella fell with her big tits on one of those Chola cactuses and ended up tweezing her own tits for days.

It is a shame this is well known now. People are destroying the ruins. Just touching the rock leaves damage.

Um, how come in Call of Duty, uh, Black Ops 1 and World at War, when you call in the dogs, if it's you and your team's dogs, then you see them as German shepherds but the enemies who are looking at those dogs, they see them as Belgian Malinois. That is the biggest mind-fuckery ever because how could that make any sense in the real world? People should buy my "Impact" a James Grider novel on Amazon and linked in my videos so I can afford to move out of a desert into a more forested area like in the video.

+Tara Crocco There were stagnant pools that the bear's drink out of. Not ideal but we treated it well and it got us through 2 nights.

first a chainsaw, a tree was struck by lightning and still smouldering and then at the end a plane.
Hearing those chainsaws (probably loggers) in such a pristine and magical place must have been so unnerving for you. It seems anymore no matter how far you venture you can't escape man and his destruction. Who needs to be reminded of that crap when you're in a place like that?? Makes me so mad. :(
When we were headed in we came across a tree smouldering from a lightning strike. 2 days later we came across the forest fire crew chopping it up and clearing the trail so it was just the sound of taking care of the environment in the end.
Well that's good to hear. Guess I'm just cynical from reading all of the Alt National Park Service updates on Facebook! ;)
