I can barely hopscotch in a pair of shoes and this 4 year old is doing it on ice. Talk about putting you to shame. He was an amazing skater even at that young sge!
And the young Nathan Chen went on to become and Olympic Gold medalist and the Greatest Of All Time in figure skating...and GOAT is still performing till this day.
Watching this in tears at my home in Shanghai, I saw the making of an Olympic champion - the unimaginable efforts by his parents, all his coaches, the choreographers, a sensational iceskating-loving community, and above all by Nathan Chen himself. I'm loving it.
Those teachers are amazing. What a wonderful community. That's the very best place to see children grow from the inside, their soul. Regards from far Argentina.❤

I'm 38 and could barely skate until last summer! It just takes learning and practice! You're gonna get older no matter what; might as well get older while learning to skate if you want to.
The cuteness of him wearing those white skates makes my day and I think it would have been great if he had worn white skates at the Olympics! Those could be his trademark. 😄💕

Something made them put a kid in the center of a routine who is so young they probably can’t find black skates small enough to fit him that won’t cost a mint. If you watch the video of him at his first competition at 4 years old and compare it to most skaters in mall rinks he’s better than 90% of them. They knew what they had.
