This is the story of a pilot who put everything on the line to complete the contract and maintain the units reputation. After destroying an endless number of artillery batteries, turrets, tanks, and aircraft all while fighting off wave after wave of light and medium Mechs, victory was in sight. The operation was nearing success when the worst possible news came over comms. The enemy assault lance was dispatched. Heavily damaged, low on ammo, and cornered by a hostile Atlas, the Commanders Nightstar was down to a single side torso, leg, and arm, with only a fraction of the center torso structure remaining. In a desperate attempt to survive and with only two heavy rifle slugs and four thumper artillery rounds remaining, each shot needed to count. Through years of hardened combat training, against all odds, and with a little luck, the Commander felled the Atlas with only one rifle slug and two artillery rounds fired center mass, and not a moment too soon. Allied forces were soon on scene and cleared off the remaining hostiles, surrounding their badly damaged commander. Ammo completely depleted, armor and torso shredded, and a single functioning small laser remaining, the site was captured and objective secured. As the friendly drop ships arrived with reinforcements, the Commander looked to the sky. Another day on the job, another contract complete. Just another day... ...as a Mercenary.

This is some crazy timing! I just started playing the game again a few days ago, and yesterday I thought about how much I enjoyed your previous covers (and also noticed that you hadn't done the main theme yet). What can I say? That's my kind of synchronicity!
As someone who plays this game regularly...this is better than the actual song by at least a factor of 10. I can vividly imagine some Solaris VII gladiator walking into a screaming arena with this as their theme.
You know personally I think each version is epic in their own right and I can't favor one over the other. Like the original I feel like is the intro to the movie and the recurring diddly seeded through. This version is what gets played during the climax of the battle during the peak emotional moment. It is one of those times where I can't pick which I like best. With his other covers I prefer them to the originals but this one is super tricky for me.
I just discovered your MW5 covers this morning and I am absolutely blown away by them! I love the entire soundtrack by Sean Kolton and you're totally doing it justice. Incredible work!
You should play Battletech. (The PC Strategy Game) Better than both. MW5 just has so many issues with map design and odd, tacked on features like the melee combat.

Hey Vincent, don't know if you're familiar with the Dynasty Warriors video game series at all, but those games have some real banger sound tracks that I bet you could elevate even further. Particularly Dynasty Warriors 4 has some of my favorite OSTs from the whole franchise. My personal favorites are the song "Eve", the Dynasty Warriors 4 Fire Mix (Lu Bu's theme), and "In Full Bloom". All of them have some pretty cool guitar work IMO and I'd love to see you cover the series some day! The series is all the way up to Dynasty Warriors 9 now and presumably 10 is in development but they still include some fan favorite songs from the past games (such as the aforementioned Eve for example) as songs you can get as small DLCs in the more recent games because they're so good.

I love this MechWarrior brand comeback. MWO and MW5 are both going strong and the overlap between Ace Combat and MW are pretty strong.
Neither he nor I are done yet. I don't do MWO but there are still at least 8 tracks from MW5 and the DLC's on our list.
