I absolutely love these garden tours!!! It kills me not being able to grow in my Canadian climate for most of the year. Thank you for sharing all the beautiful things you guys grow.
We have one fig tree (we forgot to show in the video) - figs do not do great where we are on the island... We will probably bring it up to our property in north GA as figs do great up there.
I can't recall seeing you harvest any Dragon Fruit in your videos.....have they been fruiting and producing yet for you? How would you rate home grown Dragon fruit compared to others like your Bananas, Pineapple, etc, is it as good and as desirable to eat as those? I've never had Dragon fruit before, but I'm growing 4 varieties that will fruit later this year so excited to try them. I'm curious how you would rank them compared to other Tropical fruit.
We have not had Dragon Fruit produce for us yet at this property, though I think this year is the year. We LOVE LOVE LOVE dragon fruit though- it is so good, refreshing, etc. If you can, buy one at your local grocery store / farm stand and give it a try. Our favorite is yellow skin, white inside. Dragon Fruit is one of our all time favorites (just behind mango and coconuts)...
@@IslandsnHighlandsAwesome! I see Dragonfruit at my local Walmart and tempted but I've read online that ones from the store are bland with no flavor because they are picked way too early so I'm purposely not buying one because I want my first time eating it to be one I grow myself with full flavor and then I will buy a store one after that to compare! I've been watching tons of vids on how to grow Dragon fruit, and it seems that to encourage flowering and fruiting they say to cut off the tips of the end otherwise it will just keep growing up and up in a single branch as high as it can, but if you cut the tip of the main stem then a bunch of new arms will grow instead of the single stem keep growing, and then if you cut the tips of the new arms again it'll trigger earlier fruiting or something like that. I'm growing a couple varieties that are self fertile and self pollinating, American Beauty was highly recommended as it's Self fertile and Self Pollinating, so no work to get fruit. I'm also growing Sugar Dragon which is self fertile but not self pollinating. The other two I'm growing are Purple Haze (not self fertile nor self pollinating) and Connie Mayer. Cant remember if its self fertile but Connie Mayer supposedly tastes like Coconut so excited for that one. Can't wait to see your Dragonfruit taste test vids, hopefully it will be this year!
I think that Dragonfruit is the most amazing looking fruit with its awesome colors and I would grow it for just its looks even if it didn't taste good, but glad to hear it's one of your top favorite fruits!
We get dragon fruit from the store all the time and it is consistently good- even when we purchase it up in the north GA mountains. Sounds like you have some awesome varieties growing- I want to put more effort into growing dragon fruit as it is one of our top favorites.
The Hawaiians made an alcoholic drink out of them called Okolehao - we have never tried to use the roots for anything. Maybe we will do some experimenting soon!

I love y’all yard tours! I need to move somewhere with a lot of sun!

Imagine those Plumeria against the brick wall!
Yes we need to plant more!
Waooo excellent 👉💯👍👌🖖🙌🙏🙏🙏
Thank you! Cheers!
I cut the coconuts into 3 pieces instead of using the whole one and make coconut milk with the hardened jelly
How do you cut them in three pieces? The fruit inside or the actual coconut? 🥥

Hey you can eat those banana flowers... are you not? its very nutritious
We have before but I have to be honest we usually do not.
All you want now is 2 soursop trees idk if it will grow... Opps I spoke too soon 😅
We could use another soursop lol I’m a little concerned it may be too far north for ours to provide fruit for us…it loses all the leaves in the winter
Do you know anything about Ti roots? I’ve heard they are edible….
The Hawaiians made an alcoholic drink out of them called Okolehao - we have never tried to use the roots for anything. Maybe we will do some experimenting soon!
Do you have any praying hands pups that you would be willing to sell
Sorry not right now. Try Nick at Nick's Edibles in St. Cloud...
@@IslandsnHighlands thanks your food forest is fantastic, like the updates.
Thank you! Nicks Edibles is an amazing nursery!
