  • I added a short hitch lanyard on my flipline (3 or 4 wraps work well), so I can manage it better.
I made this video to show my technique with the flipline. There's no chainsaw because it is a simulation of a rescue on a pole.

Thanks for a simple, illustrative video, that does not torment with excessive poor narration and over the top music. One can actually see what you are doing and understand it! Well done!

Love that idea with the prusik behind your flipline. So it can't eat the slack when you don't want it too. Wish you showed how to set it up

You my man have the baddest Flipline technique I have seen. I only watch you get to the top of the tree and had to leave a comment. Very smooth and flowing Ascent up the tree very cool. I will have to try your Technique be safe brother

Thank you, I will have to try the prusik on the steel core flip line. I have a VEVOR Steel core lanyard and it did very poorly today. Note it may just be me but my secondary poly rope with a prusik did much better. The steel core filp line just kept slipping down the tree trunk while the poly just worked. Also, the rope grab on the VEVOR slipped continually. your method just may be the solution. Thank ou

Hi Giorgio. Good to connect with you. I see you're a tree surgeon. I was one also. As tree surgeon do you get back pain?

Try constructive rest posture Alexander Technique.
      Look into Bartenieff fundamentals.
Use your hips to bend 😉.

Forgive me but why do you have a hitch on the slack side of the adjuster? So you can use it as a 2 in 1 lanyard? Thanks.

Giorgio Fiori thanks for the answer. I have the same adjuster and it seems to work good. I'll give this a try.

Sorry but it looks like it impedes use of mechanical slack adjuster. I will watch it again but I see no benefit.

Its a backup safety also keeps it in position

I agree. I've always liked the fact that you can just take up the slack with one hand. And if the grab is slipping it needs to be replaced.
