Endocrinologist Dr. Janet Rubin at the University of North Carolina Medical School defines fragility fractures and identifies who is at risk of a fragility fracture.
Thank you Margaret and Janet. All exercises are scaleable. And it's the responsibility of trained professional therapists to design programs that are scaleable. For example, your illustration (from the Hartley study?) of hopping for 20 or 40 times on one leg could begin with a single jump (two feet, not hopping) holding onto something secure with both hands. Or even more basically, holding on with both hands and just standing on alternate feet, progressing through more steps, through raising the knee higher, increasing the pace etc. until, 6 months down the track a hop is possible.
