Gr eat tutorial. I was wanting to figure out how to make a box bottom. You have made this so EASY. I am going to go make one now Thank you for doing such a great job showing this technique. I give you 5 stars.
That was SO perfectly helpful and you teach it so well that it looks easy. And not daunting! I was remaking my old purse on the fly and got stuck. Thank you, I'm subscribing also!🎉❤
Very helpful! Especially the part when the bottom doesn't have a seam. Have a question for you though ... when calculating the length of fabric needed for a flat bottom, you add in half of the size of the finished bottom size or the full size? For example, I'm making slip covers that will measure 72" long and have a 13 1/2" square bottom/top. Do I need to add 14 1/2" of fabric to the length of the 72" to compensate for the bottom when I cut the corners to be sewn across? I know that I will be cutting the wedges in the corners at 7 3/4" to give me the 13 1/2" square (allowing for 1/2" seams). Does that make sense? Thanks for the assistance. Look forward to hearing from you.

Are you simply choosing a given number to base the cut outs off of, or is there a rule of thumb to follow?
Finally something I can understand
