DO NOT fire BBs out of that thing! BBs are typically hardened steel or copper coated steel. The rifling digs into a lead pellet, but a steel BB will not only jam the barrel, but seriously damage the rifling! I have the BB version of this, and you can fire pellets out of it just fine. Because the barrel is smoothbore. They sell separate shells for BBs and pellets which are different colors (brass for BBs and silver for pellets) but it doesn't matter. You can fire either out of both. I don't know what the difference is besides the color of the shells. The rubber gasket at the back is supposedly longer for the pellet shells but they both load BBs or pellets just fine.I also have the 17 caliber version of the "cowboy rifle" which uses the exact same shells. And it ejects them on each cycle! Awesome! I bought the two of them together and they can use each others' shells. And you can load either shell with BBs or pellets. But the rifling in your gun prevents BBs from firing.
