It's the follower floating on the spring that goes inside of the follower. Not the HK design. Had the same problem with ATI from South Korea magazines. Replaced the followers and springs with HK. Boom! Good to go even with flat points. The original design has the follower supported on both sides of the follower, NOT floating it from the inside.
I’ve had the AP5 for about a year and it’s been 100%. I just bought Mac5k will be in a couple days. The Ap5s have gone up in price while I bought the Mac for $975. Time will tell but I’ve seen a lot of good reviews.
I got it to run 50rds of Winchester 124gr Nato with 2 x $75 HK mags and a new extractor spring. Switching to MKE mags, it started jamming all over again.
There is another issue with SBT brace of that sort and AP5K models (AP5 is fine) -- the trigger mechanism has this needle-looking part with a spring that hits the brace every shot because it doesn't have a cavity to accommodate that retracking part. So, it's just waiting to break completely on you and it's not MP5 design fault, but SBT's fault for not following the lead on HK stocks, etc. which have a cavity to allow the part to retract properly without hitting a metal wall every shot.
If you’re going to get an American maid MPfive clone the way to go is the PTR 9CT I haven’t had any issues with mine and shot 115 grain from the get-go and no issues ever then went to 124 grain steel case all shoots flawlessly
Well, that’s OK. That might be your experience. I actually love my AP five and my PTR, but I’ve had many less problems with the PTR. When I first got the AP five, the factory had down the end of the ejector so it was not functioning well, and it had an old bent extractor spring in it so I changed both of those and then it ran like a top. I’ve never had a single issue with the PTR, I love the AP5 as well
@carlos8398 I understand. I wasn't trying to be rude or hateful. I was speaking on my personal experience. I was going to buy a ptr after handling the ptr it just didn't seem the same quality as my ap5.
I had one and it wasn’t worth the money. Mine use to jam a lot and fail to extract rounds. I clean my guns after every range visit hoped that would help but it didn’t. That’s the only gun I’ve ever had an issue with. The ptr9 was okay but definitely not good for long term. Sold it ended up getting a ap5 and a zenith zf5.
Comments turned on by request. Note the Zenith has gone back to Davidson's for a refund.

Check the bolt gap. The mac5 are known to be off.
I got the mac5k two me hours you like them and compare please
So why don't you use the MKE mags in the Zenith?
Seems like might be a mag issue, have you used the MKE mags in the K model? Break in?

I already modified my SB Tactical Brace using the fix shown in this video:

@drobs7279 That's good!
Put it up against a PTR !
Okay, now get a AP5-P and see if you have the same problem.
I got one. It works perfectly.
Mine doesn’t. FTF, nonaConcentric

Sorry to break it to you but the ptr is not nearly as good as the ap5

Just do what I did get them both
