Hi, Glad I found your channel, I really enjoy the videos, watching from SOuth Africa, to answer your question on organic fertilizer, my favorite is comfrey, a comfrey plant chopped up and placed in sealed containers filled with water to the top, let it stand for 3-6 weeks, plants love it, also bakers yeast, dry activated bakers yeast, 1 tablespoon on 10 liters of water, (how to) mix 1 tablespoon in a small container with lukewarm water (about 250ml+-) with 2 tablespoons granulated sugar and 1 tablespoon bicarb, mix well, let it sit for 24h, mix it with 10-liter water and pour on plants, very easy and plants love this mixture, you can youtube it for more in detail info, thanx

Bloom fish emulsion, Alaskan fish emulsion, jadam Korean natural farming fertilizers, agro thrive is another good one. Espoma and Dr. Earth have good granular slow release ones.

Make your own fertilizer with the JADAM method of JLF using weeds or any garden vegitation and leaf mold, and if you have livestock manure, it makes it even better.

Thank you! This is the most concise overview I've seen on it. My favorite brand of liquid fertilizer is MicroLife. I really need to save up for this system. Looks like a game-changer.

Before I bought the EZ flo system I watched your video and remembered you mentioning to have the injector before the pressure reducer but when I was reading the operating guide it says to have it after the pressure regulator I have yet to hook it up but I’m sure you have worked out all the issues through trial and error. Maybe somebody needs to inform EZ flo about the correct way to connect the injection system.
I have the exact same setup as you do in this video.
Do you have a hose vacuum breaker?

It’s been a minute since I’ve looked at how it’s set up but now I’m curious myself. I haven’t had any issues at all, it’s worked great for me! I don’t think I have a vacuum breaker but I can give you a definitive answer on that this evening!

JADAM JLF is my favourite fertiliser. I am (and have been for ages) trying various methods to irrigate, save water and get the ferts in there. It's wise to filter well, especially with self fermented fertilisers, to avoid particles clogging up your la di da's,
Thanks for the video, very nice. I saw these spray bottles with the built in venturi's, but they are overpriced here.

Is the tank constantly adding fresh water in order to build pressure, thereby diluting the concentration of fertilizer over time? So that the concentrate at the very beginning of the feeding cycle of weeks or months is much stronger than what it is after those same weeks or months?

You can use any water soluble granular fertiliser and make your own mix. It’s much cheaper than buying the specialty products and the same ingredients.

Favorite organic fertilizer = rabbit poop and pee. If you have blueberries, rabbit pee is one of the only organic ways that I know of, to feed Nitrogen. Diluted in a 5 parts H20 to 1 part urine.

Human pee works great too... and the reason why I'm here watching this is because it's already in liquid form. I don't like to put it on lettuce or root veg... but for tomatoes & cucumbers it's great. I'm testing amending with wood ash for the P&K that's low in urine - I can tell you that the urine and the wood ash pretty much balance each other as far as PH goes.

Would love to hear what you think about our Spike! It installs directly on to a ½ inch drip line with its self piercing capability. The cap serves as a fl ow control and with our 90 degree adapter (included) you can connect a ¼ inch line! Would love to connect with you

So do you run this for like 30 minutes a day with the injector until it empties? I guess that would take a little bit of time to empty

How would I know how much to use for each fertilizer? Do you have to re-fill it each watering? And lastly do you leave it hooked up 24/7 and have it fertilize your plants every time you water? Love this system and can't wait to try it out. Thanks !

A lot of fertilizers if you go to their website you can find ratios for fertilizer injectors! If you can’t, you would probably have to count your emitters and flow rates and get an idea of how many gallons per hour are coming from your system. Once you figure that out you’d have to see how many gallons you’ll use during the fertilizing and then you could add the amount for that many gallons!
If you’re like me and find a fertilizer without instructions.. start light and see what it does, and do more next time if needed! But definitely look at the website and description for your specific fertilizer to see if it has instructions!
If you want to fertilize each watering then yes you’d have to refill it! Technically when I set mine up it will actually fertilize a couple times. You’ll be able to see if there is any color left in the lines and sometimes it takes more than one watering to flush it all out!
Annnd the last question is a tough one haha. I left mine hooked up for two years… annnnd it finally broke my container right after making this video. I ended up re ordering but going with the newer HOSS model that seems to be more sturdy. BUT if I wouldn’t have had mine hooked up constantly i guarantee it would have lasted for years to come. Per the instructions you aren’t supposed to leave it hooked up. If you do, I would close the valves so it doesn’t sit under pressure and you should be good!
      Hope this helps!

automatized drip systems have their solenoids installed below ground, so we'd have to connest the fertigation injector after the pressure reductor (3bar), but after every solenoid ! - almost prefer the DIY version from el guardian de la tierra, yt!

I was wondering if I could use fish emulsion through drip irrigation and some places I read said no. Once before I did actually to run fish emulsion through my injections and through my drip irrigation but it seemed to take forever to get picked up, the clear bulb was brown for over an hour. I have a 16ounce injector and was wondering how much fish emulsion should I use? I have 4 beds that are 4’x6’ and one long bed that is 2’x20’. I would like to use my injector, I just don’t want to clog up my emitters

I tried with fish emulsion and did not work. Same problem you described. It’s seems it’s too tick to flow smoothly.

Which fertilizer, start with a doil sample, then drpending on PH do a tissue sample, one size doesn't fit all needs.

real drip systems have 1'' tubes for distribution of irrigation to most garden beds, where we have 16mm autocompensated valves tubes installed, so costly to install only 2 for the 2 solenoids!

How often do you need to refill your injector and how do you know when it needs to be refilled?

    • @otisore
      @otisore 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

You refill it when you need/want to apply fertilizer. It's no different than when you know when to manually apply fertilizer using a watering can.

@@otisore I have not used one before. Does it complete run out when it has pushed all the liquid fertilizer out? Or does it continue to fill with water?
