  • India to Canada cheap options | Indirect flights | Different PNR Tickets | Canada via Dubai
    We choose the flight via Dubai. It was different PNR tickets, So we booked two different flights. One from Delhi to Dubai and Dubai to Toronto.
    Transit VISA
    As we are transiting from Dubai, We also need Dubai Transit VISA.
    If you are booking flights via Emirates, you can get free 48 hours Transit VISA from them. Our flight was with Indigo, so we have to get Transit VISA from an agent. It cost us 3300 per person including Covid Insurance.
    If there is not much price difference between Emirates and any other carrier, choose Emirates. As you get a free VISA and also get a free hotel stay by using their Dubai Connect Program. We made this mistake by booking Indigo and we have had to pay extra for a VISA. Also, food is included in Emirates and its luxury flight.
    Baggage
    A flight from Dubai to Canada has a baggage allowance of 2 bags of 23 Kg (46 Kg) each, but India to Dubai flight has 30 Kg only. So we need to add extra baggage to our Indigo Flight.
    Baggage Transfer
    Make sure you have a minimum of 4 hours between flights as you will have to collect the luggage and then do the immigration and baggage submission again.
    Also, there is a Marhaba Service provided by Airport which you can use to transfer your luggage, but it will cost you extra. We moved our luggage ourselves.
    Explore Dubai
    On Transit Visa, you can also go out of the airport and explore Dubai. We stayed for 2 nights there and Visited Dubai Mall, Marina, and Atlantis Aquarium. This will cost you extra and Dubai is expensive. So If you wish not to spend extra, you can just transit without exploring Dubai as well.
    Smooth Process
    There were many Indians on the flight as well. So nothing to worry about. The whole process was very smooth and we didn’t face any problems.
    Currency
    You can carry some Dhirams or have a card with International transactions enabled. Do let us know in the comment below to know more about the Card with Zero Forex charges.

    Just Loved it...I was thinking of paying 1.5 lakh for a direct flight which was painful for our wallet but now it's a relief after watching your indirect flight option...

      @loonietales  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi,
      Do you booked both tickets separately? or Its Single PNR ticket.
      Most likely it's different PNR tickets. And if that is the case, you will have to add extra baggage. Because India to Duabi flights usually allow 30 Kg weight and For Canada flights we have 46 Kg.
      So extra baggage needs to be purchased.

    In how many days did you get transit visa after applying through agent?
    What's the validity of Dubai Transit visa? I see my agent said 30 days, but airlines shows us 14 days validity. I'm confused.

    • @loonietales
      @loonietales  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I got VISA in 1 day. Though they say it may take upto 4 days.
      Dubai Transit visa has Validity upto 48 hours. And costs around 3300.
      30 days or 15 days VISA are tourist VISA.

    Hi mam
    I am travelling from Delhi to Toronto on 12-Aug. My first flight is Air India from Delhi to Dubai with layover of 5 hour 10 mins layover. Second flight is Emirates from Dubai to Toronto. Both flight have different pnr numbers .
    Please help I am very confused.
    Do I need transit visa for the same?

    • @loonietales
      @loonietales  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you will need transit visa.. you will have immigration at dubai when you go from delhi at that time they will see your visa. Then you will go to next terminal in dubai to catch next flight. Different pnr tickets require transit visa.

    • @loonietales

      Please check with airlines, if 2 large bags are allowed. 4 hours is cut to cut. if something went wrong, you may miss the connecting flight

      Hey!
      For us Dubai Immigration was quick. Took around 1.5 hours including Baggage checkin, security and immigration.
      But you may consider 4-5 hours buffer between 2 flights to be on safer side.

    I really hope you are not promoting this path to people. Although you had a safe journey it's still a Risky path
