    Orangina Use to be in a Glass bottle , the drink is from France , and for some reason in the UK they chose to have the bottle, Plastic

    • @thetastetestchannel
      @thetastetestchannel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it’s a real shame that it’s becoming far more common to find Orangina in the plastic bottle now. The glass bottle really adds to the appeal as well as being so much better for the environment. You can order the glass bottles direct from Orangina though, should anyone be determined to find them! Thanks for sharing. 👍😊

    Orangina is in a league of it's own. It has a lot of real orange juice/pulp in it. Most other orange soda drinks don't even really taste like orange at all except when you burp it back up. I know that's gross but it's true lol.

      In Italy you can buy a dozen flavours. Orange and Blood-Orange like you said. But also Lemon, Grapefruit, Bitter-Orange, Manderin and of course the #1 Chinotto!!!

    Orangina seems to be awfully expensive in the UK. In France you can have a 1.5L bottle for less than 2€, and its quite accurate copy from Aldi for less than 1€. The version you tasted is quite similar to the Orangina Light (Diet) sold in France, the standard Orangina has 9.6% sugar and no artificial sweetener.
    One of the best orange soda I ever tasted is the one from Marks & Spencer, and its sugar level was very low compared to Fanta or Orangina. But it was more than 30 years ago and I don't know if it's still the same product.

    • @thetastetestchannel
      @thetastetestchannel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s really interesting that the French recipe varies in its sugars!..and yes, fairly pricey here in the UK, although it is cheaper in cans. I’ve not tried M&S fizzy orange but will certainly seek it out and give it a try. A beverage that still has impact after 30 years must be worthy of investigation! Thanks so much for your insights & I hope you enjoyed the video. Have a lovely day! 👍😊

    Thank you for this video! Im a huge fan of orange fizzy drinks, but sadly I only have access to Fanta and Crush in my country, I'll keep my eyes peeled if i spot any of these in the international foods aisles of my nearby supermarkets, specially for Orangina!

    Ahh, something I'm not so keen on. I rarely drink soda, pop, soda pop, soft drink, etc, but on those rare occasions when I drink a fruit based one, I prefer a Nehi Grape. I find the tartness to be refreshing.
    Did all of these have sugar and not any high fructose corn syrup? I know most of these kind of drinks in the US have HFCS but I'm not sure about the orange versions.
    In the late 1970s I was stationed at a base in the US state of Louisiana, where on my first day I was asked if I wanted a "Coke" by a superior. Upon affirmation, he asked me what kind I wanted. I looked at him in confusion as at the time there was only one version of Coca Cola. He gave me a list of the choices; Pepsi, Coca Cola, 7Up, Root Beer and several others. He had just taught me that in this region of the US there aren't pops or soda or soft drinks. Their generic name for a carbonated beverage is "coke". Now all I hade to learn (other then my actual job) was how to understand the extremely thick southern accent of the people of Louisiana.
    As usual, you are both entertaining and educational!!

    • @thetastetestchannel
      @thetastetestchannel  ปีที่แล้ว

      Funnily enough I only learned very recently (from another comment on our Cola taste test video) that “Coke” is used generically for soft drinks in the Southern states. I can imagine your confusion!
      Only the US Orange Crush contained High Fructose Corn Syrup, the others all had sugar (and some had sugar and sweeteners.) Although I have noticed that global brands bought in the US often substitute the usual sugar ingredient for HFCS.
      Nehi Grape sounds interesting I’ve never encountered it but will certainly look out for it! Thank you so much as always for your lovely feedback, it’s super appreciated and by the way, just a heads up, I have a funny feeling that the next video is going to be right up your street! 😆 Have a brilliant day 👍😊

    Interesting I prefer British TANGO than Fanta I find it a little more orangy in flavour, but the best is CLUB Orange of Ireland, it contains about 10% orange and has a great flavour shame it's not sold in shops here. I first tried S. Pellegrino in Portugal although it's not as good since then it's had sugars cut and sweeteners added, Fanta in the USA is completely different.

      Fascinating! 😆 I’ve never seen a drink quite as luminously bright orange as Crush, but I was quite unaware this was the standard go to colour for orange drinks on your side of the pond!

    Oh, WEIRD! That Fanta is a completely different colour from the Fanta we have here in South Africa. Ours is more of a bright orange colour. If anything, that looks more like our Fanta Pineapple.

    • @thetastetestchannel
      @thetastetestchannel  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes, someone else mentioned that the Fanta Orange was a different colour in the US as well. (The same colour as the Crush in fact!) Makes me wonder how much the colour varies around the globe... Thanks again for sharing. 👍😁
