there could be an entire series called "Chasin' Jason" where the rogues talk about both the art of pursuing a target and evading a target. like, footprint tracking and how to undo that. Or how to use dogs on a scent and how to hide your scent. There's a lot there.

As a professional window tinter I can say you didn’t too to bad for this application , the biggest flaws was when you are squeegeeing the water out between the film and the glass you should wet it to prevent scratching, then flip to the hard card side without felt and use a clean paper towel to prevent the hard card from scratching the film and use to get the majority of the water the squeegee didn’t get, also when cleaning the window make sure to wet the glass and squeegee the water off last to prevent contaminates

Guys, in the interest of *not* having to reset the injury counter, next time you have a video that involves a large pane of glass, protip: Acrylic.
Cheaper, lighter, less brittle, harder to break, and the broken shards aren't nearly so angry as plate glass. It's also softer, so easier to work with.
Now, yes, there are downsides. Acrylic scratches more easily, and since it's a plastic, Brian's trick with the camp fuel will probably dissolve the acrylic, so you'll have to use exclusively non-solvent-based cleaners. But if you're not expecting to keep whatever it is around for more than, say, a week, and/slash/or you don't mind some mild surface scratches in your finished product, it might just save you a trip to the emergency room.

Alright, glass production worker here. Reflection coated glass does have a difference in the reflectivity from either side.
The truly reflective side will produce a reflection that is bright and not washed out/darkened. A good way to check is to hold a brightly colored item in front of the reflection and compare the colors.
Also, you should probably have worked with arrised glass to prevent handling-cuts. Arrised glass is glass that has had a type of grinding belt taken to it that smooths out the edges, to get rid of the jagged points and ridges along the edge.
Also, ALWAYS wear PPE when handling anything that poses a risk to your personal safety. I know it's the Modern Rogue, but glass in particular is incredibly dangerous if handled wrongly.
A piece of annealed glass can lacerate the skin and cut an artery, and bleed you out so fast. Work with tempered glass if you can, and wear your cut resistant gloves, sleeves, and jeans.

There's a thrift store near me, and at the side of the store, right in front of the jewelry counter, there's a mirror in the wall. The light hits it just perfectly to show the office space behind it, if you look close enough.

To prevent scratches, you could try to spray the squeegee felt tip with the water solution, or just spray ontop of the film before you squeegee so it's not dry :)

The part about touching your reflection in the mirror to see if it's a two way mirror is unreliable but if there's no gap then it's a good indication that something is going on. No gap means the reflective coating is on the outside which makes it a first surface mirror. That used to be an expensive type of mirror that was used almost exclusively in optics related applications like telescopes and two way mirrors.

For cleaning glass or monitors distilled water and a clean micro fiber cloth will get you a streak less panels. If you have dirt or oil more aggressive means such a as alcohol or soapy water will get rid of the big stuff. And acetone will usually dissolve most adhesives.

Isopropyl alcohol is always a good cleaner but you've got to wash the glass 2-3 times and make sure your cloth or paper does not come apart and putting a sheet of black paper underneath and a lamp shining sideways across the glass reveals if it's clean of not. I used to make lithographic printing plates long ago and dirty glass was my enemy!
I also used to enjoy IPA fire tricks too!

Another fun use for the tint is to put on a TV and make it a "smart mirror" using a Raspberry Pi and something like Rainmeter(there are a bunch of ready made solutions for the Pi now)

A restaurant I used to go to a lot as a kid, had these on the doors to the kitchen. I assume, so you could see if someone was approaching the door when exiting the kitchen, but stopping people from seeing what was happening in the kitchen.

I stayed at a really bad Motel on South presa in San Antonio that someone got murdered in while I was there, and it had two-way mirrors in it. The way you can tell the difference between a two-way mirror and a one-way mirror is to stick your finger against the glass. If it's a regular mirror there should be a noticeable space between your finger and the reflection of your finger, about an eighth of an inch or 1/4 of an inch. if you put your finger tip against the mirror and it touches the reflection of your fingertip it's a two-way mirror.

A few years back, I was doing a security gig in an agricultural school, and we had 2 way mirrors in the main staff office.
Pretty cool, I suppose. Y'know, it was a pretty large school, and all that junk, and it's handy to know who's hanging around outside the office and dorms when it's dark.
Problem was, they installed it backwards, so you could always see the security feeds and who's in the office/what they're doing, but we couldn't see out. I give them a 2/10 for effort.

To fine out if you are looking at one of these mirrors you can do something like this. If you carry a bright EDC flashlight. Turn it on max and place it flush on the mirror. Watch carefully. If is a pass-through mirror you will be making the space behind the mirror lit. At least in some small way.

The origin of the factoid Brian talks about is from old fashioned mirrors. You can tell the age of a mirror by how close your finger "touches". this is due to the fact that modern mirrors are thin enough to allow them to touch but older mirrors mean they do not.

So if you're installing this as an actual two-way mirror (or using it as a smart mirror with a screen behind it), A use a good squeegee to really properly install it to the glass, and B, mount it with the film on the 'window' side, not the 'mirror' side. Actual glass mirrors are reflective on the back of the glass, so having the film on the 'mirror' side won't look as good.
