this album has great songs, but in every case I prefer the demos to the produced version... and you hit the nail on the head... produce these songs like Rocket to Russia and it would be legendary
"End of the Century" is the only unlistenable Ramones album for me. Outside of the self titled Ramones record, "Pleasant Dreams" is my favorite record. Every song is great. I actually don't mind the production. I wonder if the album cover wasn't a put off to some people?
Best drumming by Marky on a Ramones LP Best vocals by Joey as well Wah wah so the guitars are muted....most are played by Gouldman anyway...same with the bass. Better songwriting on this then EOTC PLUs...Russel mael on backing vocals. My fave Ramones LP
I'm very happy to discover you guys are from Queens--I'm from Woodside! Lived there from 1966-1988! I still luv NYC!!
Yeah! Queens! ✌️ I do miss the city
Another good one, thanks! I like when you relate the records to your lives and growing up, much like you did with the films.

That's a good point about the cover...
@@statesandkingdoms The cover is crap.
Their OG idea/cover is way better....them as zombies
@@murreygellmann7708where did you hear that? I’m pretty sure it was just a picture of them, I don’t remember it having zombies involved.

I’m fairly certain Walter Lure played the lead tracks. Idk why there’s that persistent rumor that they didn’t play on certain albums
I really like the album. I like the next album Subterranean Jungle a little better though. I feel it could be their most underrated album
Johnny hated the guitar sound and felt the demos sounded better.
The album sounds so good, idk what his issue is
I agree. This album and "mondo bizarro" are Joey's best vocal performance
Agreed. Mondo Bizarro is underrated
