I lived in the same house as the cosmic psyco's and radio bird man I remember once the nasty cops started to bash rob young lead singer of bird Man they thought he was me (mistaken identity) wild days on the south Coast of nsw 🤙🤙
@@tdtm82 fuck yeah same died pretty use to live on the next street over they took off with all the house furniture of the place they rented this all went down at Coledale 😂 🤙🤙
I saw them play in Denver and I was in a pink dress surfin' all night and she SIGNED MY RECORD ON STAGE! You could really tell she loves what she does. She has such a pure soul... I LOVE YOU AMY!!!!
27:25 Amy gives some of the most insightful and articulate answers which shows how keen, observant and intelligent she is. Her ability to discuss all the issues she addresses with such clarity and tie it all together within the realm of human hope and compassion is super inspiring. I dig the music but more than that I dig the mind behind it. Stay humble and keep pushing ✌
I saw them last year in Oakland and Fresno and they blew the socks off the entire crowd. The Fresno show was one of the best shows I saw all year. Plus the band is SO nice, and you can tell they are tight and really care about each other. Their opening band, Die Spitz, were also incredible, and there was a real positive vibe from everyone. They love what they do and I am happy to love them right back!
Absolutely adore Amy and the story about the whole band 'growing up' together, sharing a house and sharing hotel rooms. What an amazing group of humans
Yeah, kinda reminds me of how Blondie started. Living on a crappy apartment together, surviving on toast bread and water. If band survives these harsh moments, they are something special and it shows in their work❤
I know how different the song "BIG DREAMS" might feel for some. But, it's sooooo amazing! And, i'm proud that AMYL AND THE SNIFFERS are experimenting with their music and tapping into this side of 'em! LOVE IT SMMM
Cracking interview, well researched, grounded to the album and band development. Comes across the band love being free to explore their sound which is fantastically refreshing..
like dis Lucy Smith has really put in a lot of time to research the album, band and interact with them and make it a quality interview. they probably gave more to their answers because of how great they found it ! but thats just me...
I can't believe how the boys just create these songs like it's nothin' and then Amy comes up with the insightful lyrics with little effort. I haven't finished watching this interview yet, but I was really enjoying it while eating my lunch in the deli today, with earbuds. So much of what she says resonates with me - everything is spot on. Everything they say is interesting to me.
Amy is the best since Debbie Harry. I'm a 63 year old retired post punk singer in a Detroit band with some local success, club DJ & zine publisher. So I've seen every band that has influenced the Sniffers. They are the real deal. "Cartoon Darkness" is as good as Ramones "Rocket to Russia," & ACDC's "Back In Black." There are still plenty of great young rock and punk bands and this lot proves it.
She's so giddy that this makes the most fun interview I've heard in a long time. The band is serious Punk with catchy hooks. Hopefully, we'll eventually get to see them in the States.
I love them so much. Saw them in Munich yesterday! But I have to say I needed some time to warm up to the new album. Really interesting hearing their thoughts on it and how the slight maturity and vibe change was recognizable to fans who have been listening for a long time! I love you Amy and the boys are great too! Also, I have to comment on the part where they said they have mostly male audiences... yesterday in Munich i had the same feeling. However, when I looked around I saw a lot of women and girls behind me. The guys were just more in the focus because they filled the first 3rd of the floor and especially the moshpit. I felt the women felt a bit too unsafe to push to the front. I usually enter moshpits especially for bands like Amyl but this time I stayed back to protect myself. So maybe Amy would like the idea of an all girls (and who ever feels as a woman/nonbinary) moshpit! I would LOVE that. I can speak for myself but as a woman I ESPECIALLY love Amy because she gives off such an effortless, no fucks given, confident, batshit crazy, intelligent, fun and strong vibe that is SUCH an inspiration and examplary to how I want to live my life in this patriarchal world. Freaks to the front! ❤❤❤ from Vienna!
Saw Amy and the Lads play at The Forum in Melbs, July 22. They blew my socks off. Soooo much energy!!!!! They just keep getting better each album. Keep up the fabulous work 🎉
Bailin on me, Do it Do it & Me and the Girls, in particular, all getting me extra excited for the band's evolution.on this new album. Roll on the live shows!!
Best band in ages. Love everything about this band. I listen in the gym, on my scooter, in my car, in my bed. First real band in a long long time. The sky is the limit. World needed this now. Sniffers for world dominance. Amy is just the perfect punk/rock front chick i could imagine. Her energy is just magnificent. Cant get enough. Need vinyls. Need merchandise. Need moooore. Amy for president. Amy for public health. Now I will jump the fence to my neighbor garden pee on his garden midget and rip up all his flowers. Love you all.
I have been following this band for a while now. I feel like I finally got in with a band at the start and will see them become famous. Like famous, famous. Let's hope so. They deserve it.
I have a few regrets in life but one of my biggest is messing up my opportunity to grab a pic with Declan. I saw Amyl and The Sniffers at the Falls Festival in Fremantle. They played directly after The Wiggles 👌🏻I was heading to merch stand when I realised Gus and Declan were walking in my direction. I went total middle aged fan girl and asked for a pic and Gus obliged. I was a little overwhelmed and grateful and completely aware of their personal space and privacy so I didn't want to take any more of their time so didn't think that Declan was down for a pic. I walked off and when I looked back Declan was just standing there, looking rejected. I should have gone back over but I didn't because Im a basket case🫠 It was me Declan. Not you ! 😂
I KNEW IT! Amy is smart- articulate and a true artist- This band is a true Punk band- in your face attitude- built from what you got on hand and all about the music! I’m too old to dive in the Mosh pit but this band makes me want to give it a go!
Top interview, U guys rock, and u know whats goin on, Amy is gorgeous, so open and honest, I love how they feel the songs vibe, true muscos, Dec does cut some sic solos too, would definitely see them again 💜❤️💜❤️

Nihilistic lyrics. Social commentary. Live life attitude whilst also embracing Crowded House vibes?! The Sniffers really are the truest punks of modern time Also: Dec “yeah we are really growing up these days” Amy “we said c*nt on the first track!” Love it
Amyl has so many similar aspects of her personality to Janis Joplin, they literally said the same thing about having to play with a loud Rock band its so beautifull how they are so different but yet so similar❤
