Never have I been so terrified and hyped for a prequel or sequel tv show, as much as I am happy of the fandom growing and dexter gaining more popularity Dexter original sin and resurrection can both be a hit or a major flop 😂😂
@@erenyeager7693 this is why they cant go down the harrison route - If resurrection is based on Harrison and Dex is his imaginary conscience then no one would watch
I always interpreted his visions of Harry and Deb as reflections of his thoughts, not necessarily theirs. It shows us the complexity of him navigating his dark passenger. So for new blood id assumed that deb was very aggressive because he had more guilt and trauma.
Honestly I can't really say how original sin can be done justice, I'm gonna have to be patient and watch it myself As for dexter resurrection, I do believe if they bring the original cast and have all of them hunt dexter down, while dexter is running away, still killing, and still escaping from place to place, then he finally gets caught and gets the death penalty, with the electric chair, a parallel to season 2,of what dexter believed his fate would be if he got caught, that's the only way this dexter resurrection can even be slightly successful in my opinion 😂
If they do what you think or propose for Resurrection I have no doubt it will be a colossal flop, far worse than the finale of Dexter. Why watch a single episode when from the moment the hunt is on we already know how it will end. I wouldnt, why if I'll know all his efforts will be for nothing...? The only way Resurrection will be watchable is if they take a completely different direction, for example if the government gets him and hires him as say, Dexter Bourne.
Not gonna lie I fell matt had it coming, matt even said, he almost TAGGED dexter, after he shot the deer, that's what made his death justified to the code😂
@@justsomeguywithamustache2901 lmao yeah he definitely deserved it - I just think the code bit was unnecessary. Would have been cool if Dex did it just bc of the trolling lmao. My point is that the writers use the code as a bit of a cope for Dex at this point lmao
Ngl if dexter is indeed alive in resurrection due to the coldness, we are gonna have to assume he's gonna escape, 2 things can happen I feel this time he may go place to place and spread his name as an unidentified serial killer taking out the bad guys, until he gets caught and then gets the death penalty at miami metro 2nd possibility: dexter is just gonna go full villain mode, he might give up on the code, because he would realize it didn't make any sense, because he still hurt and got innocent people killed, making him a hypocrite, very similar to the trinity killer, a young man who became a serial killer and kept doing it even in his old age, it's dark, but I think it be dope
@@alsimmonshellspawn i know its my theory and there is no chance of it but i do love the idea of him being healed and then the whole series is his court case, we see him battle with his own sins and reflect on what hes done
I think the pacing of the show was very different but I liked it. We need to remember the original series was 8 years before so filmmaking as a whole is completely different. I get what you mean with how intense the scenes with Debra were, I feel they had a good effect - however I agree, they can be a bit much at times. Alongside this, the whole dynamic either Harrison felt rather repetitive, he comes all this way to find his dad but won’t stop hurling abuse at him, just makes you question why he bothered at points. The main gripe I have with the show is how a small town cop susses out and finds out who Jim Lindsey really is, for once it felt like Dexter lacked plot armour. Also felt like a case wasn’t really there to call him out as the BHB. Needless to say marks in the neck either ketamine in there system but the one body found was nothing like the BHB kills. Regarding the ending, poor. The idea itself isn’t bad, but boy they rushed it. Felt slow paced up until ep10 and then shoved it all into one.
@@HarveySut pacing wise it felt similar to me, the story i think was just more compact and focused where as the Dexter show had a few more side plots. The ketamine thing makes no sense to me, he didnt use it in the original show thus making the murders he commits here completely different to those of the BHB, not to mention the body she found wasn’t chopped into pieces and dumped in the ocean. It feels like they just wrote alot of convenience into the script, which i get but as a writer, you cant expect the fans of the show to just go along with it
HONESTLY IF WE TAKE OUT THE BATISTA BUILD UP TO FINDING DEXTER IN NEW BLOOD, THE ENDING IS ACTUALLY PRETTY SOLID, shame that it didn't happen, but i am curious as to how dexter ressurection will play out
The implication of Dexter being able to exist without his urges is actually hinted to more than once throughout the original series, so that part wasn't the problem for me. I definitely agree that he feels... too happy. Tho it IS later revealed in the season that he's been lonely the entire time. It's all an act, a bad act, and he hates it. Secondly, Deb is supposed to be horrifying and uncomfortable. She's haunting him.
@@Cammerel yeah imo he was gaslit into believing he needed the code. Though, i think the writing is inconsistent with his dependency on giving in to his urges. I can see what you mean about it being an act, but regardless hes hardly punishing himself. Id rather see him live more reclused, and not being such a valuable member of iron lake who everyone loves with a gf - almost like obi wan in a new hope. I also get Debs role and that her death is his biggest regret, i just think her scenes are too consistently intense and it takes away from the actors ability to perform. If every time you are on screen you have to deliver an emotional monologue, it takes away from the value of that
I know how hot of a take this is, but other than New Blood being insanely rushed and the blue balls they gave us with Batista, it was near perfect for me and was exactly what I needed after hating season 8.
I would absolutely love if the new show is centered around the trail of the bay harbor butcher, bring the original cast back, go all out with this, end it with Dexter getting the death penalty and making some kind of peace with dying.
everything about the finale is so dumb. Dexter really had no reason to run. There was no evidence against him even for the murder he'd recently commited, no district attorney would even bother trying him, and Angelea's threats about sending him back to miami were as hollow as they come. There's no crimes he's been convicted of or is even under suspicion of having commited there, so can't send him back. Even if she thinks he's the bay harbor butcher that case was closed by the FBI well over a decade ago, she'd have to prove that Doakes wasnt the guy just to get them to re open the case and that's not happening. Dexter would have just spend maybe a weekened in the jail and then been released. Charged for a fake ID at the most. On top of which with him killing that cop, they forgot Dexter used that exact choke hold to just knock someone out in the original series. Dexter wouldnt have killed that guy he wouldnt just knocked him unconscious.
@@redbearington3345 it didn’t make sense to me that angela thought he was the bay harbour butcher, the BHB also didnt use Ketamine so idk why they seem to pretend he did in the show. I respect Angela is a smart character and a good cop, but why could she figure out in a week what the whole miami Homicide apartment couldn’t see over two decades
