I know most of us first heard “The Violation” as an intro to this band, but I think this was the perfect song choice for Juds intro. Also do Septic Flesh!
I had a sense that Judson would dig Fleshgod Apocalypse! Scepticflesh might be a good one too. You must definitely go on the King concept album too! In Aeternum would be a great one!
Show Juds NEVERMORE - ENEMIES OF REALITY. Great double bass intro, and the tempo is high enough that it creates space. Best chance to get him on board with double bass.
The way Judson talks about blast beats is always hilarious! The man knows what he likes and doesn't like and isn't bashful when saying so. Can you guys consider the Ne Obliviscaris song And Plague Flowers the Kaleidoscope since the blast beats kind of sneak up a little bit in the song instead of being front and center? Maybe it'll help with Judson's blast beat exposure therapy.
I'd love to see you guys do some Bal-Sagoth, probably later stuff for better production. Judson will love the the keys but hate Byron's voice 😂. Keep it up guys, love you videos!
GUYS - You HAVE TO make a video watching and commenting your take on GOJIRA playing the olympics!! What a proud moment for us metal heads! It was amazing!! Pure art!!!
I'd highly recommend Ex Deo if you want something in a somewhat similar vein to Fleshgod. In case you don't know (not assuming haha), they started as a side project of the singer and some other members of Kataklysm. They're all about Roman history. I'd suggest 'I, Caligvla' or 'Divide Et Impera' as first songs maybe. Also, the album New World Misanthropia by the band The Elysian Fields is a little more similar in style to Fleshgod, and probably one of my favorite albums. The first three songs on that album (Chaoskrator, The Clavis Magna Doctrine, and World Misanthropia) are such _absolute bangers._
Because of Judson’s drum comments, you guys need to do a Behemoth song. Most recognizable and unique drumming in this style. Nephilim Rising comes to mind.
So you like the drum intros so much Judson,i think you'll definitely gonna love this song...so Richard,i think it's time to let him listen to Corporeal Jigsaw Quandary by the band Carcass, don't you think???🤘🤘🤘🤘
So many people who hear Fleshgod for the 1st time miss out on something that I consider very important. Each song flows into the next, which you miss out on only listening to 1 song. The whole album is more like a classical piece.
Next one I'd do The Violation.... I know it is a faster piece, but let the man hear what is truly genius about them. After that maybe slightly more chill The Forsaking and after that maybe something off King. They have great music videos btw., if possible Judson should watch too!
👿🔱😈.. the beginning of the song really makes me think of a Tim Burton movie..amd i can deff hear the singer doing the lyrics to THIS IS HOLLOWEEN... I am the clown with the Tearaway face 😂
Very cool. Fleshgod are definitely one of my top symphonic death metal favorites. I agree that the material in Agony rips, and it remains as my favorite album (although Labyrinth is also great). If you like the symphonic death metal material, I highly recommend the Greek band Septicflesh as the next one for Judson to check out. Their song "Martyr" (th-cam.com/video/RdPkwiSB3XQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=DdWwWZ7hhhTQXq7F) from the album Codex Omega would be a cool introduction for him.
I agreed with Judson. i have listen different kind of metal about 20 years and I don't get in these drum/guitar soundwalls which drown everything else under plus chords and growling on top of that it is just too much for my years. It feels like it doesn't make any sense, it's not even epic anymore, just lound mixed noice. I guess when I getting older more I appreciate good rhytms and melodies which co-operative well together, less incredible fast double bass and 'tilutilu' solos. Don't get me wrong, I like double bass and sometimes fast playing, but it needs to be well writen and work together. I think this is what is a problem with many modern metal bands today. Peace! 🤘🏼
They've grown on me. I love the powerful feeling of being hit by that train. I love putting on my good headphones and dissecting the sound. But I can imagine it's not for everyone, and not all the time.
@@rv8891 I agree. Ten years ago I would never have enjoyed this but I totally agree with you in that I love dissecting all that comes in that wall of sound. Like Lorna or Shadow of Intent for example. I wouldn't listen to it all the time but every time I do, I find something I haven't heard before. I can understand it's not everyone's cup of tea but you can't argue with the sheer complexity and musicianship it takes.
If you go back to Fleshgod please do The Fool! That's the song I would've started with! Or anything from the album King, it's such a operatic masterpiece!
Please do something from Septicflesh!!! Symphonic Death metal from Greece!!! 🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷 In my opinion they have less of the wall of sound approach so Judson might enjoy it more. Song: The Martyr of Truth
sure, Poseidon is the large cruise ship that rolled over and surviving passengers had to crawl up to the bottom of the ship to get out. geese everyone knows that.
Try the fathers of this genre. Septic Flesh. Everything recored with a real full orchestra and chorus. And all instruments are arranged from the guitarist of the band who studied composition at the London College of Music and has a masters degree.
on the quest for SPACE on the drums I think it may be good to take Judson down another forsaken path of the 90s, which is the more funereal styles of extreme doom. I think Judson's ears and brain may have to come to terms with, for example diSEMBOWELMENT - Transcendence Into the Peripheral, Skepticism - Stormcrowfleet and Esoteric - Metamorphogenesis or something like that. The more modern styles are cool and all but our friend new to metal I think it would be good for him to have the experience of heavy metal that almost appears motionless, still like a frozen waterfall... it's very poetic. diS are a good thing to try because they also grind like motherfuckers so they juxtapose extreme slow and still with maniacal violence well. Congrats on 5 years sober!
I'm once again with Judson on the double kick. The song would be about 10 times better with 95% less of that. I don't get why people love it so much, it removes all dynamics from the song and more or less turns it into mush. And it doesn't even sound like a bass drum, it sounds like a typewriter. I'm fine with some occasional use of it but when it gets to be this much it just loses all its intended impact to my ear.
I could never really get into the symphonic Fleshgod stuff consistently, there's a few tracks that are good but symphonic stuff in general rarely hooks me, always preferred the first album that was just straight up brutal tech death. Tech death is always kind of a weird transfer to live shows. Unless the sound system/engineer is absolutely perfect then a lot of little detail stuff is lost in the noise a bit when compared to the studio, which can be disappointing, but it's generally offset by the visual part of the show. Particularly with guitarists, it's interesting to see how sometimes very complicated sounding riffs look so easy to play.
My favorite song from this band is the betrayal. I’m just saying. That song has insanely fast drums!! I know this comment has NOTHING to do with this video.
😈🔱👿..im deff on Linus side when he talks about space on drums and in a song.. The lack of ot is one thing a really dislike about alot metal songs.. The drummer blast beating you to death for 4 min.. I guess that's why some of the top drummers ever are Jazz musicians.. Bill ward..ginger baker..the list goes on amd on... if all you can do is blast Beat I feel you like Talent or you would be doing something inventive ir unique while drumming.. and I always will say sometimes less is more and I use AC DC as a prime example of this
5:41 Right hand said “wait wtf” The issue for me with these drums is that they take any rhythm out of the song and drown out any melody. Congratulations on five years, Richard!

Judson looking intrigued then deeply uncomfortable through the intro is what I live for.
I had a sense that Judson would dig Fleshgod Apocalypse! Scepticflesh might be a good one too. You must definitely go on the King concept album too! In Aeternum would be a great one!
finally some fleshgod, keep it coming.
My absolute favorite song from them!!
The moment I've been waiting for. This song is so good, but yes, there is so much more Fleshgod to hear.
Show Juds NEVERMORE - ENEMIES OF REALITY. Great double bass intro, and the tempo is high enough that it creates space. Best chance to get him on board with double bass.
Congrats on 5 years!
Was funny Judson intimating about how this might not come across well live, because I was thinking I bet they're epic!
The pianist guy hairstyle is Amazing !!
Please do Septic Flesh as well! What a band
YAAAAAP the best
You would like their newer stuff their new album has a female soprano for the clean vocals and each song has that
The way Judson talks about blast beats is always hilarious! The man knows what he likes and doesn't like and isn't bashful when saying so. The double kick drums with the Orchestra in the background is so powerful
Judson is such a cool name, I haven't heard it before.
I'd love to see you guys do some Bal-Sagoth, probably later stuff for better production. Judson will love the the keys but hate Byron's voice 😂. Keep it up guys, love you videos!
100% if you go to a metal show and it's live music, you'll enjoy it more than you would at home

GREAT MEASURES my #1 reaction channel❤
This is the only band like this that I listen to. I love their album King.
More double bass drum songs for Judson, like Morbid Angel's Where the Slime Live hahahaa!!!
Because of Judson’s drum comments, you guys need to do a Behemoth song. Most recognizable and unique drumming in this style. Nephilim Rising comes to mind.
Minotaur is goated. Flesh god is goated!

Gravity!! It's as heavy as anything can get
Shout out to the Cephalotripsy t-shirt.
1) Septic Flesh
2) Luca Turilli/Rhapsody.
Both bands have amazing music, real full orchestra recordings and serious writing from real composers
So many people who hear Fleshgod for the 1st time miss out on something that I consider very important. Each song flows into the next, which you miss out on only listening to 1 song. The whole album is more like a classical piece.
Oh, this is a legendary album. You guys should listen it together from start to finish. Fleshgod at it´s peak. Thank you for this!!
One suggestion: Spawn of Possession - "Apparition".
great song, would have probably introduced with Epilogue, but this whole album is great!
👿🔱😈.. And richard i said symphonic black metal 💀.. but I hadn't heard this band before so thank you for that brother 👍🙃
You can hear the Vivaldi influences in this piece, Francesco Paoli is a genius.
Next one I'd do The Violation.... I know it is a faster piece, but let the man hear what is truly genius about them. After that maybe slightly more chill The Forsaking and after that maybe something off King. They have great music videos btw., if possible Judson should watch too!
Do Good Mourning/Black Friday next ❤❤❤
Definitely should do shylmagoghnar- follow the river. Both will love it. And it’s only one guy playing all 50 plus instruments
ASTERION, Lord of Suffering
Gotta be 1 of my all time favorite songs
Hi from Italy !! 😂 😂
React to Ulcerate and Gaerea

Song: The Martyr of Truth
Haven't watched the full vid yet but my first guess on the intro is a variation of Buckethead- Padamasma from 'Electric Tears'.
😈🔱👿.. medieval demon 🤘💀... Linus will hate them lol..sorry for the rant 😊
the amenta - mictlan
its californication 🎶
PLEASE DO SOME MORE SEPULTURA
Maybe its time for some SepticFlesh live in Mexico.
check out Ne Obliviscaris - Of Petrichor Weaves Black Noise

Yes!! Is that when the cable came through and cut everybody in half or am I thinking of something else?
@@Greatmeasures don't recall that. maybe?
Try the fathers of this genre.
Septic Flesh.

Poseidon? I hardly know her!
Pervert!
I'm greek so I've met Poseidon personally, can't help with your metrics I'm afraid. No opinion on Fleshgod Apocalypse, but I'll listen to yours :)

Gravity from King is the only one i think he could get into, but there is a lot of those kicks tho...

Show him mafia!!! From mafia!!! He'll love it! Or embodied deception off of oracles. That intro is ridiculous.
omg try the amenta - the void
I think Labryinth is their best album as far as music..its the mix that makes it maybe not their best album, which is interesting eh

aaaaaaaah, your mom!
