Ms. Chan, it seems you don't do enough research on items you get from Costco or from regular supermarkets. Granted, you have a family to raise and look after, not to mention being an avid TH-camr, so most likely, you can't afford the luxury of spending time conducting extensive research into the matter. This is understandable. Here are few things you may find helpful. You may or may not aware of them. Just something I want to share with you. First, for example, like you said, one can definitely store avocados in the fridge. In fact, it can be stored in the fridge for about two to three weeks without much problem. It slows down the ripening process for sure, but eventually it will become ripened vs. "NEVER RIPEN," as you purported to. If you try my storing method described below, you will have no fear of fetching a big bag of large avocados from Costco, especially the organic variant. In fact, Costco organic avacodoes are the best way to go. Regular avocado, regardless of where it is harvested, should be a distant backup option to be had for regular, frequent consumption. The proper way to store avocados, which I do all the time when I buy organic avocados from Costco, is to wrap them in Glad Press N' Seal. This is the best way to store avocados in the fridge. If you want to have a ripe avocado, just take one out of the fridge, get rid of the wrap, and let it rest in a cool place in your kitchen. Wait two to three days; it should become ripe and ready for use. Second, the bread you decided to buy is probably one of the healthiest brands you can buy in Canada. I believe the company is based in B.C. The bread is organic, and they put healthy ingredients into it. Granted, adding plain sugar, organic or not, is less than ideal. But at 5 grams of sugar per two slices, I referenced information from Silver Hills own website; that is as good as one can get with mass-produced breads. Never ever eat mass-produced, cheap white breads. It's not healthy and does more harm than good for our health. The healthiest are made with organic grains, especially those made with organic sprouted grains. I got it; most folks who grew up in Hong Kong don't like bread unless it is white bread. It's more of a bad habit than anything else. Actually, you should try to get some bread from a local mom-and-pop bakery. Multi-grain breads are chewy, but they are sweet and absolutely smell heavenly. The key is that they need to be freshly made with high-quality, no-compromise ingredients. Breads only need two to three ingredients. Mass-produced breads are loaded with nasty stuff. Stay as far away as possible from these "bad" breads. Actually organic sour dough is the BEST, healthiest bread to consume. You can do some research about it. Finally, for the Costco olive oil you were looking at in the video, you should stay away from buying the first one, which is a blended oil using olives from different regions of the world. You have no idea what kind and type of olives were being used, even if it is being branded as Costco olive oil, not to mention that it is not "EVOO" extra virgin olive oil. Thus, it is wise to limit the consumption of this particular olive oil variant. There is a reason why they are lot cheaper than premium-quality olive oil that is EVOO. The Costco EVOO you were talking about has very good overall ratings from Costco members and from lots of professional chefs. In fact, if you want a high-quality EVOO derived from a proper extraction method without destroying all the vital nutrients in the EVOO, then the Costco one you were looking at is perhaps one of the best choices out there that you can buy without breaking the bank doing it. Genuine EVOO that contains all the vital nutrients is not cheap. The majority of the store-bought EVOOs are subpar, to say it mildly, almost completely void of all the vital nutrients we thought we were getting when consuming these oils on a daily basis. Oh, one more thing: Chosen makes the best avocado oil. Here in the U.S., we can no longer get it from Costco. It only carries the spray can version in where I am located. Chosen is expensive in regular stores. BUMMER!!! So next time, do a bit more research on the avocado oil brand you want to get at Costco if you feel Chosen is not quite economical for you. I hope this helps. Again, you may or may not be aware of what I share here. But your fervent followers may find it helpful.
