  • This may be the BEST out of the box trigger of any DA/SA gun I have ever handled! Not only is the trigger fantastic it ran flawlessly for 450 rounds and proved to be a sub 2" gun at 25 yards.

I've owned 3 and each one was:
      Super comfortable.
      Super reliable.
      Very aesthetically pleasing.
Comparable or cheaper than big name guns.
You CAN'T GO WRONG with Bersa.!!

Finally a comprehensive review of this gun! I just purchased the standard version of this gun a few months ago after a local gun show... nickel boron coated slide, hammer forged barrel, awesome mags, awesome trigger, and smooth as silk! And all for $500!
It is my fun gun, my home defense gun, and a pretty gun. It actually out shoots my 226!
    love the vid!

I bought a TPR9C and loved it, but couldn't shoot decent groups. I then bought the full size TPR and was disappointed until I loaded some NATO 124gr. ammo. What a huge difference! This is one of the most accurate and easy to shoot pistols I've ever fired...

Looks like a keeper! Interesting DA/SA de-cocker mechanism! I am impressed with its flawless performance and its accuracy. For the most part, my only experiences with Bersa has been with their .380s that show up in the hands of students in my handgun classes. Those have had issues, primarily with defense ammunition so it was pleasantly surprising to see the Bersa 9 run well.
Thanks for your quality commentary and tireless work at getting these videos out to us!

    Great review Pat!
I'm argentinian, and here the Thunder Pro XT is a great success!! I personally think it's got nothing to envy on a CZ Shadow or Tanfoglio/EAA Stock 3 that seem to be so popular now, and at half the price of those or even less!!! (Yeah, it's about 920-950 usd here, but because of import taxes and less-than-scrupulous importers, a CZ Shadow or Tanfoglio is around 1800-2100 usd.. Yes, really.... No, sadly for us argentinian shooters, I'm not kidding.....)
Also, it's not just you that's bothered by the sharp corner on the back making the web of your hand sore. In this video you can see a match from the POV of Gastón Quindi Vallerga (Argentina's first proffessional shooter, at that time working for Bersa, and he's also the Thunder XT "concept designer" let's say) and you'll see he wears a strip of tape to protect his hand in that spot.

Agree Patrick to some extent, that’s why there is snapcaps for this particular purpose. It is stated by most reputable manufacturers that dry firing shortens the service life of certain firearms and wears out certain components faster. The effect it’s not immediate but over time it will show. This is obviously the case with revolvers and da/sa centerfire pistols. Much less so with modern striker fire guns when some actually require dry firing during field stripping and cleaning. Thanks

    • @robertglover1296

The Trigger on my Bersa UCP9 is very very close to as good as that trigger. Smooth DA pull and a very short non gritty take up to the wall. Crisp definite break. The Reset is very short. Bet it's not more than a quarter inch of travel till it resets. My Thunder380CC is damn near as good too! I saw a video of the Sig Sauer Legion Series that they are so proud of that the MSRP is around $1400.00!! Lol. They showed off the trigger&Reset and bragged about how good it was. Well, I could tell by watching that my UCP9 is almost identical. I will never buy a Sig when I have an awesome pistol for$420.00. I can buy 3 of mine for the price of theirs!

I appreciate your honesty & integrity. Thank you. I used to own a Bersa Thunder Ultra Compact Pro 45. I had this particular gun for 18 mos and it spent more time in the warranty center than with me. Numerous things wrong with it. After going to the warranty center for the fourth time, I insisted on and received a replacement. I sold it and have been turned off by Bersas since. It seems like for now you have a good, quality gun in your possession. Hope that continues to be the case for you. As always great video.

Jay Byrd I like the Thunder Pro in 40 . Why ? Get you a 10mm barrel made for it and you will be safe in the woods.

Thanks for the great review! Subscribed. I've loved my Bersa Ultra Compact Pro 9mm for the last 15 months and it's now my carry gun. I'm very interested in this new XT model. Been looking for a nice affordable range/race gun for fun and some of the Zombie shoots some of my friends have been doing. This might be the gun....

Tanfoglio has no problem producing hand guns in the most popular calibers at a good price. I have no problem giving Bersa, over $700.00 for what I want but I am not looking for a race gun in the bush because it does not work for attacking bear, large cats and wild bore.

Thumbs up! First I've heard of this pistol and it sounds like a good deal. 5 mags! That's too cool.

Love your reviews Patrick, with my only complaint being there needs to be more. I subscribed this time visiting, I came hoping you'd gotten your hands on the new CZ ... but I"ll just have to wait. Also my shooting buddy is wanting the CZ so I'll be directing him here hoping for a review sometime soonish.
As for the pistol, I didn't consider it flawless performance. The lone light hiccup being the failure to fire. We don't know if that's gun related or not ... I think a LOT more rounds have to go downrange to rule out gun vs ammo. Not so big a deal for match work, but my buddy would be using it all phases, including self protection.
Keep up the good work please, godspeed in all of your shooting!

Thank you to stopping by, I hope you will subscribe. I want to produce a video a week! But>>>>I have a full time job outside of the gun world and buy most of the gun to review them. So that process takes time and money.

make no mistake, I did subscribe and I look forward to all you create. I hit a thumbs up for every review that I enjoy. So far that's been all that I've watched :) I REALLY like the idea of the video ... the concept of a "virgin" gun being loaded for the first time at the LAMR command.

Bersa is awesome. This weapon is better than a 226 and essentially is. This comes with a chrome lined barrel, ambi controls and has been threw military trials exceeding the sig 226 in reliability. The manufacturing techniques used to produce bersa pistols has even been copied for newer sig lines like the 365 etc. You will be charged more for sig only due to the name on the pistol.

So, this vs HKP30LS, vs Arex Zero 1 T? That's where I'm at. Looking for a DA/SA, or just DAO, with a safety/decocker that offers a thumb rest and square trigger guard.

@@PatrickEKelley3gunfun Thanks! I've been trying to find one I can physically hold first. And being that they share the same mags as VP9, which I've been playing coy with for years, makes it a strong contender.

VERY NICE VIDEO, INFORMATIVE, HONEST AND ENTERTAINING. 😊 I believe you also reviewed the Grand Power X-Caliber awhile ago? How do you rate the Bersa Pro XT against the X-CALIBER? I bought one about 7-8 years ago and I LOVE IT. I let people at the range check out my X-CALIBER and they like it A lot, that's the type person that I am letting people try out something either haven't shot or can't because of cost or unavailablity like my sweet shooting P08 that has a new barrel and Wolff springs. I'm always trying to PROMOTE the 2nd Amendment and the NRA. I do the same when shooting some of my NEAT or COOL 22lr pistols and rifles.😯😉😃😂😂😂 YOU KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND SO WILL I 😊👍
