What a great evening I’ve just had, joining you on the Camino. I’m so enjoying your commentary, thank you. I will start from St Jean in March 23, this is helpful prep. I have to wait now for your final instalment now.
Thank you so much for this little gem of youtube. I really enjoyed watching it! I’ve walked the Camino Frances in 2010 and parts of it in 2011 and 2012. 2015 I've walked the Camino de Norte and met a Belgian guy who now is my husband. We'll be on the Camino Frances in may to show our two little girls where mum and dad met and your videos help us to calm down the excitement a bit. :D
Fast Walker, love your stuff. Solidifies my notion to spend my 70th birthday on the Camino next year. You're posed question, "maybe I'm a loner? Of course you are! It takes one to know one.😉
I had to skip Leon because it was too much for me. I ended up taking a bus to Astorga for 2 nights and visited the cathedral - it was really a lovely rest stop. Thanks for posting these videos!

Really enjoying your camino journey and appreciate you making such an effort to share your experience We walked the CP around the same time as you and Camilla and I was bitten by a dog first day out of Porto near vila de conde...spent several hours in emergency room but thanks to the fantastic ambulance team and nurse and doctor we were able to carry on our Camino I love dogs but I really tried to avoid them after that experience but as we know, dogs seem to be everywhere on most caminos Thanks again for your vlog and merry Christmas to you and yours
Wow what a great job on making your video!! It's a lot of effort you put into it! I've watched it in segments over the last few days. I've really enjoyed seeing your journey! I can't wait to do the Camino again. Thank you for sharing your Camino! God bless you!
Thank you for filming and posting your trip. We're sure it took extra effort to record it, but it gives many of us great enjoyment, we're sure. You've given us the gift of a fascinating view of a trip we'll unfortunately never make. We've followed your trip several times (wonderful scenery while walking the treadmill), and we've always chuckled at your determined search each morning for a good cup of coffee. We also look forward to starting our day with a strong, black cup of coffee. The best we've found is a dark-roast, whole bean coffee ("Intense French") roasted by Cameron's Coffee in MN, USA. To thank you for publishing you videos and sharing your trip, we'd like to send you a 2 lb. package of this coffee. So, if you'd like to try it, just let us know your shipping address. Stay well!
I feel like I’ve hiked with you 6 hours. Thank you! Do you have any advice for me- I plan to hike from SJPP starting April 29th 2024. Will albergues be open then?
I really enjoyed your camino clips, thank you for your good presentations. We are similar age, me 68.I did the Francais when 64,same type walkiing, mostly solo but enjoying company too at times. Our speed is similiar altough you are slightly faster. What ratio did you use sugar and salt in your water and would you still recommend? Thank you again😊
Hi I’m glad you liked my videos. 😃 This works for me, i.e. an adult I use this prescription: 1 liter of water 6 leveled teaspoons of granulated sugar (1 teaspoon = 5 milliliters). ½ teaspoon salt (½ teaspoon = 2.5 milliliters) Mix water, sugar and salt. It is important that all the sugar and salt have dissolved and that the liquid substitute is transparent before drinking. The drink can be flavored with two teaspoons of concentrated fruit juice or juice. Boil the water first if you are unsure of the quality of the water, for example if you are abroad. Then mix the cooled water with sugar and salt. Be very careful with the measurements It is very important that the dosage is correct if you mix it yourself. Use exact teaspoon measurements, not standard teaspoons. It is important not to take too much salt and to use regular salt, not herbal salt. Don't take too much sugar either. Drink a little at a time, but often. but it is best to use liquid replacement that you buy, so that the dosage is exactly right.

My husband wants me to ask you how come you didn’t stop at a shoe store in Leon and buy yourself a new pair of sneakers? He saw you passing one shoe store with great discount signs all over and then you passed a main multilevel National store and you didn’t stop either. He wants to know desperately because he says you have been complaining about your shoes and mending them a few times. Why on earth you didn’t buy new shoes 😅 He also wants to know why you didn’t stay in Leon? It seems like you avoid the bigger and most prominent cities along the way for overnight stay. Thank you 😂😂😂
Hi 👋🏻 Thanks for asking 😃 as I say at the end of my film (Sarria), the feeling for the shoes became a love/hate story. They were light and had a wide toe box. I need a large size (not easy to find) and these shoes were a non drop shoe. (Have a certain influence on my body especially my lower back) Spending 200 eur and "just buying" new shoes might have solved the problem with the holes on the inside of the shoes but I could just as well have got new other problems with the new shoes. So I kept them and tried to fix them instead, which I did several times, and finally I solved the main problem in Sahagun (village before Leon). Yes I avoided to stay in the larger villages because it’s more expensive, I have stayed there before and I think I found nice albergue with nice spirit in the smaller villages. I hope I answered your questions .. 😃🙌🙏☀️🚶🏼♂️

Hi 👋🏻 Glad you like my films 😃 hm, maybe because I'm stubborn 😃 But not only that, the shoes were good as they had a wide toe box and they were light. Then after I had walked in non-drop shoes for a long time, I saw it as a risk to change to another type of shoe as my body has to get used to it. Another reason is that I'm a size 46 and it's hard to find shoes that have a wide toe box and are light in that size. Often when I looked in stores they didn't have that size.
I am the husband with all the questions about your sneakers. Also, I wanna know why you did not pick up a loaf of bread and 8 ounces of ham on put it in your backpack so you always have food with you at all times. If I was walking to Camino, I would have that in my backpack at all times you seem to be buying donuts and then throw half of them away. I’m really enjoying the videos though. 😊 you seem to be a good fellow. 🫡
Hello 👋🏻 I like that you ask questions.😃 yes my eating habits may not be preferable.😂 I eat relatively little when I walk (during the day) mostly coffee, torillias and crossianter, then I eat more in the evenings. Sugar has a big effect on my body so the time I bought donuts 🍩 they were way too sweet, I tried to give them away but no one wanted them, I usually bring peanut, dark chocolate and raisin and mixed them in a plastic bag as a reserve, that keeps me going if the blood suger level becomes low. I have had bread 🥖 and ham and cheese with me sometimes but it’s many places to stop at along the Camino Frances, so I usually have these cafes as goals. When walking via Podensis I always had ham and bread with me.
