0:37 “Baldur’s Gate, what is it?” Baldur’s Gate is a coastal city known for being a big trade hub. An adventurer named Balduran founded it a long, long time ago though it had a different name at first (Gray Harbor I believe it was) but there was a gate in the city named after Balduran called Baldur’s Gate that pretty much everyone went through and it had a big fee to go through at the time so it was a big deal to the people that they wouldn’t be like “I’m going to Gray Harbor”, but instead be like “I’m going to Baldur’s Gate”. After a few years of that the name stuck and it was just called Baldur’s Gate. The setting Baldur’s Gate takes place in is called the Forgotten Realms, on a planet called Toril and on the continent of Faerun. The Forgotten Realms as a setting technically existed before D&D, as its creator, Ed Greenwood, would just write stories set there. When the game needed a fantasy setting he provided the setting to them and it’s been a shared world of many writers with lore being added through the decades. So many novels set here too. If you want any recommendations of those novels, let me know. I have a lot of them x3
Oh a tip you might find helpful is that everything in turn based mode requires an Action or a Bonus Action. You can tell whether something uses an Action by a green circle 🟢 (this is most things like attacking, hiding, dashing, equipping something etc.) or a Bonus Action by a red triangle 🔺 (this is quicker things like drinking a potion, jumping, activating a barbarian’s rage, etc.) and the top of your hotbar has a circle and triangle that are filled in when you still have them or empty when you don’t for that turn. I hope this helps ^^
1:02:56 “Am I not allowed to go inside?” That’s not the issue. You just looted his dead comrade in front of him xD Quick tip: when your cursor is red over items or doors or other things, trying to do those things (pick something up you’re not supposed to, pick-pocketing, trying to go into a restricted area, etc.) will be viewed as a crime by certain people. You can loot all the goblins and drow here you want, but robbing a dead Fist in front of a live one is go is going to have him be like what are you doing?
1:19:59 “wait *theyre* the reason the city or town is on fire?” Nah, that’d indeed be the goblins and drow. I can see how you came to that conclusion though, what with the dragon making more Flaming Fists literal in their name. These guys with the dragon just got here.
1:25:19 “Disapproves of what?!” You used charm magic to influence her and it wore off. If you use charm magic on your allies it gives them a *huge* dip in their trust in you so you may wish to avoid that in the future.
