  • After two years of hiding in the back of the shop, this 2 stroke animal is coming out to play and hurt some feelings, say hello to my fully built, factory 1998 KX250.
    From Warp 9 Wheels, to a FMF Fatty Gold Series, this bike has too many mods to list, and with the raw power and porting of the 98 engine, this dirt bike is an absolute beast.
    Stay tuned and

    I have a 98kx also its my baby!! It takes me anywhere and everywhere we go in trails in Hawaii. I bought the bike brand new back in 98 and still run it. I will never get rid of it!!! I love it to much... TEAM GREEN FOR LIFE!!!

    I have a 2000 KX250 at the present, longest bike i have ever kept, I am 48 now, so it will probably be my last, I had a 06 kx450f, it was an absolute beast, couldn't even ride it in the woods on trails, those are made for straight ripping on tracks, other wise they overheat, I traded down and traded it for an 06 yz250f, It was okay, not much on power though, But when I traded it for the 2000 kx250 2 stroke I have now, This is the best bike I have ever owned as far as a personal fit, I've had it about 6 years now or so, Never been rebuilt, and still runs strong and has a ton of power, starts first kick every time, unless it sets for months, then it don't want to start, Love your bike though, it's an absolute beauty

    Very nice bike and cool you like an older bike. One of my buddies rode an 88 back in 91 and I rode a 89 CR500 with a heavy flywheel (makes a ton of difference). My last bike was a YZF426 and I gotta say was my favorite.
    A few words of wisdom from an old man, been there, done that... As much property as you have and as much as you ride on it, you're just as, if not more likely going to get injured riding around the house as you are out tail riding so, do yourself and your wife a favor and wear your gear. At least your hard gear. 😉👍

      @AdventureDaily  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you JR! I've always wanted to ride a 500 that sounds awesome. The 426 seems like a solid bike. And I agree completely I have gotten a lot better about it over the years.

      Buckle up in the whip and ALWAYS wear a helmet and proper footwear at a bare minimum...especially on a big rocket.
      I crashed into my buddy at 45 or so...we were in an orchard doing 65+, he was maybe 50 feet ahead and stood on the brakes for some reason. By the time I followed suit it was too late. There was 20 feet of skidmarks before I slammed into him at a dead stop...put his handlebar into my radiator and sent me high side over the bars. Luckily I had full riding gear on minus the true MX boots. I was sore for a week, but no worse for wear.

      I would really love to A/B a pair of KX250s back to back:
      One thats all amped up and ported with high compression and a lightswitch throttle on race gas and the other with a Gnarly pipe, fly weights and all grunty and tractory (its a real word 🤪) with all that woods gear thats available.
      Which would you choose?

    I would buy a pair of stock wheels and only use those if you're bringing it to a track. Like you said trail riding will destroy those wheels, and they're way too nice to destroy! I'm sure alot of people will say keep them on but it's not their money that would basically being thrown away. Looking forward to see what this bike can do on the trails once the suspension is set up for that type of riding.

    • @AdventureDaily
      @AdventureDaily  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm leaning towards it, even though I don't have any money in them might as well keep them nice. Thanks for the comment Kam!

    Sick, they rip so hard. I have a ‘98 with a Wiseco 290, absolutely love it. Grew up on a KX 80 with a 105 and a KDX200. My 98 is my favorite bike to date. I did 1994 graphics on all new plasics, RaceTech rear suspension, anodized black wheels with black spokes, custom seat, new radiator, 13oz flywheel, kawi green Acerbis hand guards, and full FMF gnarly exhaust. Every time I just look at my bike it makes me smile ear to ear. Nice build man, hope you still have it.

    I still have it's identical twin but I think it's a 97. You're right, the engine rips but the suspension was too soft for mx. Oddly, perfect for trails. To this day it's the most plush suspension I've ever had.

    Great looking KX250 man! I love me a 250 2t. They just sound so wicked. The only thing that I don't like, is that front disc cover (and I know it's a great brand and quality), I feel like it's out of place with how sweet ass the rest of the bike looks. Other than that, super sick. Hold on to it. I still have my '93 CR250R. It's hard finding old 90's two strokes that are in good shape... and they will just keep appreciating in price. But yeah, rip it man. If we do a meet up at Wayne National Forest, you'll have to check my Beta 300RR out. It's like a tractor... But yeah man, get a heavy flywheel weight and maybe a 18 inch rear with a Shinko 505S. I liked my CR250R in the woods, but it was still sort of a handful. The flywheel weight is like the first thing I'd get. Some other people will say Recluse clutch, but I wouldn't get that unless you're going to be in the woods a LOT. Also, always run a high quality synthetic two stroke oil and if you can find ethanol free gas that would be good too. I believe there is a website called "pure gas" where you can search for it. Looking forward to more KX vids.

    • @AdventureDaily
      @AdventureDaily  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you brother! It might save me on the trails though and that is awesome I would love to see that, I'd love to swap bikes for a bit, I bet that Beta rides like a Ferrari compared to anything I have ridden haha, I always run Klotz and the corn free gas I will definitely have to find some. Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment!

    • @BarnStangz
      @BarnStangz 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      No problem man, glad you can take constructive criticism, I know some can't. I had a guard like yours on my CR and got rid of it, never a problem in the woods, but yeah, bending a rotor would suck for sure. And yeah man, the Beta suspension is light years better in the woods than any race bike. I'll never forget the first time I took it out... I was just blown away... But yeah, we'll have to do a bike swap... I'll have to come down with my van, the Beta and all my other junk fits in there pretty well... Maybe this fall, get some cooler days, less sweat...

    I'm disappointed that you didn't play the clip of Alexa saying "two stroke" . Awesome machine!

    Suspension, full wrap hand guards, skid plate, flywheel weight and low gearing, tusk impact wheels and a headlight. Will make this a boss trail bike.

    By the looks of that bike, and especially after what you said, it was set up for a little tiny guy or girl, with short legs. The motor sounds strong af though. As far as the wheels, I'd ride em off. Y'all b good.

    Ride it with the wheels. Just be careful and don’t wreck it on some rocks.

    Ahahah i can relate, 2 hours in my kx and it blew up the shaft, took me 7 moths to rebuild the engine and most of the power wasnt even there

      Ain’t nothing to do with being a man I enjoy riding single track and doing hill climbs, which this 250 will be a blast at after I’m done with it.

      @@AdventureDaily I know and I love your single track videos. I just hate to see a big flywheel weight go on the beast when she was meant for moto. Plus I think with a couple of trips out you would kill it at the track! You seem pretty versatile with your riding!
