We drive past the University of South Carolina, The South Carolina State Fair, The South Carolina State Museum, The South Carolina State Capital, The Bull Street District including the Fireflies Stadium and so much more. We drive through the different districts in Columbia, including Five Points, The Vista, West Columbia River District, The Main Street District and the Historical Homes and Garden district.
I point out many different restaurants and local things to do including Halls Chophouse, the Riverwalk, the Soda City Market and so much more.

This is true, definitely could use more pedestrian and bike lanes. There are some; but not many.

5 Points is a party destination and a very deadly area. You need to be truthful when talking about areas.

😊 if you have been paying attention, a lot of the bars in Five Points have been shut down. These were bars that were serving alcohol to get students drunk. This is what caused the reputation of Five Points as being a dangerous area. Thankfully, most of these nuisance bars have been shut down especially the ones that served gang thugs. You always are going to have crime where you have a lot of people, especially drunk people, and a lot of dangerous people attempting to prey on them. I think it's better now than it's been in a lot of years.
It has really run down in the past few years. I hardly recognize it.

This country should NOT have railroad tracks anymore. With intelligent people working in the world, there should be a completely different type of transit system and those old outdated tracks are ridiculous in 2023. We are going backward.
A lot of areas have converted old tracks into walking paths, it's been a topic of convo locally.
@barbara I been saying this for years Columbia is slow and backwards...its like they don't take notes from other big city states...and as of Ft. Jackson personally I think should move so Columbia can open up a bit more, build big buildings only no houses and a new highway going through it
It is pronounced Ugee St., not Hugee, even though it is spelled Huger. You are from here so you should know the pronunciation of it.

Stay away from Five Points. Just up the hill the demographics change and guns sound off. You women do not be alone in this area of Columbia.
