Great video mate, I just found your channel and it deserves more attention. I myself ended up buying an era 300 after hesitating for a long time with a pair of era 100. Not all Dolby Atmos tracks are created equal, but I do hear a clear difference when an album is properly mixed. I don't have Apple music (I'm using a trial on Amazon unlimited), but is "spatial audio" something different than Dolby Atmos? And if so, is the era 300 also compatible with it? Cheers
Great video! Does the Era 300 have enough bass on its own or does it need a sub mini or sub gen 3? And how does it stand against the Five for pure music listening?
Thanks 🙏 Appreciate you checking out the video! I personally think the Era 300 has enough bass on its own, but people will have different needs/views. In the EQ setting of the Sonos app, there is a "loud" setting and you can adjust the bass and treble through the EQ settings of the Sonos app to your liking. Pure music listening - I personally think Sonos Five is richer. BUT, I think the Era 300 is more versatile, slightly smaller in size (if the size is an issue), more connectivity and playback options (airplay, bluetooth) and cheaper than the Five.
Going to give one of these a shot and see if it's viable for my own tastes when non-dolby atmos content is played which would be a weakness with the ERA 300
I have just replaced a pair of 1's surround to the Arc - Gen3 Sub setup and for Atmos content the difference is seriously amazing. It does however leave me in a bit of dilemma though, as these era 300's setup as a stereo pair are just incredible for music playback. They are just too good to leave as full time "surrounds " haha
