      Your teaching on existence vs living is what got me to become a regular listener of yours. I am a Guatemalan Christian and have no Jewish ancestry that I am aware of and yet I listen to your podcast regularly. Thank you Rabbi for publishing your work freely and allowing others outside your community to listen to.

    I'm listening as I'm emerging from a bout of depression. You are so right about depression - I think it's rather inward-looking - selfish. When I force myself to look outward, to see others' needs and work to meet them, I know I'm on the mend.

      Desr Vladimir.
      The rabbi is truly alive.
      When a person is alive, he abvusly exists.
      Life is happiness, love, gratefullness.
      When you are alive you are full of life
      When a person exists only, as in depression, ( depresed = in a deep-rest) breathing becouse he is not dead, he realy stops to exist. becouse he exited life.
      Therefore when a person exists, he might not be alive, but when he is alive he abvusly exists.

    Dear rabbi Friedman.
    I am listning.
    Chills are going up and down my body, and now I cry.
    I cry, but my tears are not tears of sadness. They are tears of happiness.
    Thank you god for illuminating your light to shine this horrible darkness.
    Dear rabbi.
    You are a chosen man.
    As I am listning, a thought came to my mind.
    The word Existing in hebrew is
    מתקיים = מת קיים.
    The word 'חייך' = 'your life', is spelled as the word 'smile' = 'חייך'.
    When a person smiles he doesn't see his own face, the person he smiles to, does. But, a stream of l i f e flows from his brain into his boady. A flow of cell rejuvenating hormons.
    This is the secret of giving.
    My existence might not gain from giving, my life does.
    Thank you again. May god bless you and yours.

    My daughter has anxiety. She refuses to share whether its situational or un related to any one thing (clinical).
    We have referred her to a doctor, has had medication prescribed but doesn't like the side effects of them. We always encourage her to walk with the family (which we do alot of) she sometimes does but complains about the journey. We always invite her with family activities, outings etc. encourage her to ventilate her thoughts and feelings but declines

      Keep Rv Friedman’s shiurs on all day { from morning to & maybe through the night } while you clean & organize etc . Keep upbeat jazz music 🎵 playing in the bathrooms { buy 💿 players } . Recommended jazz 💿s & for outside outlets - upbeat Jewish music 🎼 🎵 . Art supplies * family paints picture together * do & hang family 👣 & 🖐 🎨ings * try family singing hr { copy the words to the songs & all family gets a copy & you sing together } * next day - dancing 💃 hr ; blast the upbeat Jewish music 🎶 🎵 in the Living Rm & dance 🕺!! * eat dinner together & everyone wash their own plates & also something used to prepare the dinner * each write in their notebook 📒 at the table their schedule for the next day { keep notebooks 📓 in a box under the table } . Then everyone share their schedule & see how you can accommodate each other . Read the Jewish news and announce the charities that you are going to give to & everyone at table reads a Tehillim { each one reads one out loud & the others - quietly & say Amen to Tehillim & * AmenVAmen Selah to personal prayers { everyone take a turn } . May things turn for the best in sweet memories for all forevermore. AmenVAmen Selah !! 🤦🤦🏻‍♀️< & Shemah together !! Oh ..& wash NV in the a.m.👼

    As I understood seeing myself submerged in a heavy existence that literally makes me drag my feet every day to my work site and questioning me do I have a life? I made for real my dream by getting a job in a government office because of my career. I am an immigrant here. Didn’t make a life just then I was justifying my existence and discovering slowly that I can’t stay more longer in this environment. And yes, there’s a lot of selfish moments but at the same time being selfless in this same environment can’t be disclosed openly because people take it from you. I give thanks to God because he guided me to find your chat. I much appreciate your time. May God bless you. I feel deeply hurt.

      @Cynthia Farley: "How I Can Apply It to My LIFE ? " Answer: Verry Simple...Just Like the Rabbi Explained. Try "Living". Helping other who needs YOU. That's L'Chaim

    • @nomorecensoringme
      @nomorecensoringme 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You don't 'apply it to your life'. You do it. You live when you do. For others. Not for yourself. Thinking of them. Not you. There are endless opportunities daily to get of service. Small things. Smiling. (You don't know whose day you'll improve.). Lending a hand to a friend, a neighbor, a stranger. The opportunities are there of you're open to them. Be open to them.
      You only start to have a life when you do for others. Before that you're existing.

    A thought doesn't take up space as it is no different than a computer running a program.
    The fact that our awareness can be distracted by a thought doesn't mean the thought has space only that the computer which is our brain is working.
    Emotions do not take up space as they are feelings one has. Feelings have no space, Feelings can't go on a diet or starve.

    Very grateful for your sharing. It's a beautiful way of opening up the scared soles that have gone dark through the pain of the world. Allot of people need to learn about life. Learn about the values that make life work for them.. it's about the quality of consciousness we develop! Education has no context without experience, this is why schools are a hiddious idea.. because "copy and past" learning is like giving people fake lives to live. Knowledge dose not exist in a classroom. It exists only in a willingness to learn.. I live in Africa. I speak with some experience. So finding knowledge of this quality is a true blessing only to those willing to learn.. thank you for your time and your sharing. You have a way with humour that makes your points clear.

    • @nomorecensoringme
      @nomorecensoringme 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You sound like you're on the road to understanding though you're still dragging old thoughts with you and trying to make it cohesive together. Won't happen.
      Life doesn't 'work for people'. Life is giving. Not receiving. There aren't a set of 'values' to learn. It's a simple concept. Stop thinking about you. Be needed not needy. Done. Go and help. Serve don't be served.

I ask this because no father loves his child before he creates a child. The father doesn't even know if the child is going to be a boy or girl, so how he can love the child before the child is created. My question is why God wanted to create specifically me? Why God is not satisfied with His other children that He created, so He had to create me also? Was I created by accident, by luck or it was planned by God?

    Our thinking always thinks like a created thing. We ain’t the real creator indeed. Yes, we’re needed, God doesn’t need us. Though He has created us as His will or wish but He doesn’t have any need to us. We’re here to develop our souls ourselves by having His mercy and help to be a being as He wished or to be successful in our both lives. We have to obey His desires or Yes-No rules to show our gratitudes to Him. It’s our exam or evaluation process to show our faith and believe towards Him. We need to know how to live and to live a righteous life indeed. To live a life- food, clothing, shelter, knowledge, medicine... are needed, isn’t it? So, we’re needed, not He. We need Him all the time. Without having His helps, we can’t get anything. Because, He does only belong all the powers Himself. The perspectives of your speech is very nice and wise that we should serve the others and the world. Before our creation He was needed us, but after we’ve created, we’re always needed He/Him. Thanks. Have a good day! Take care.

    time is relative and so is space, not absolute, two tings can occupy the same space in different times, time being relative to observer, we can say objects are occupying the same space/time until an observer looks at it, its the present for us now, but is also the past or future happening now to different observers in space

      My own Reply is simply NO.. Jews have a far greater ability to be self offacing.Far more honest with themselves in what their purpose is.
      Christianity tends to feel its needed to guide others.

    So where is that little space that you call a mind ?.That space that is so small.that it only has room for one thought or emotion at a time.?
    Where do all the other things go when they are not in your mind?
    and how do they get there? What force moves them there and what force brings them back when you require them?
    A bigger question might be; where is this mans logic stored?.and who holds the key?

    Healing? How to ask God for healing? ...I have watched many of your videos, and for years have made efforts to have health and peace with God! , I believe God is greater then science, but often feel as if God predestined people to suffer, why wouldn't God just not create them? In others words true suffering isn't athiesm, they can live a good life, not knowing God exists with the health to have a good life, and their last breath they can ask God to help, and God will love them, while others know God exists their whole life, suffer during their life, and know God can help and heal but chooses to ignore them, and they have the broken heart of knowing their whole life they suffer because it's the will of God? That's true suffering

    I'm not happy because of the deception that happened in Dec. 1999 and the Devils never ending Omen game. The dark con of man and their desparation to save their selves and the evil they invent to do so. I don't even know why I owe? I know I blessed out of love and it wasn't women.
