Well done! I just beat him today after having a hard time with him earlier in the level. That needle vessel was super helpful for me as well. This is one of those fights that requires you to plan ahead and take your time. He's just so tanky. His moveset isn't that hard to figure out, I was just expecting to mow through him like other mini bosses when he's actually a bit tougher; more of a marathon than a sprint.
Tbh I died about 10 times, all I needed to know his moveset. He has a very simple moveset, it comes to a surprise for me to know that so many people can't kill him
How do I unlock easy mode like this? These vids where the boss just stands there and lets ppl beat him up. This is not my experience with this game lol.
Staggering the enemy and immobilize helps in terms of them standing there to let you pound on him. You also might grind some levels to get ahead. Maybe a mod? I'm playing on PlayStation so my only option for easy mode is new game + lol. Good luck 👍
I beat him using a cloud step strategy. Was super easy. The poke method worked until he went crazy on me. If you use that method plan for his last 25%.
YT just reco your video. Just to share my cheese guide with this. All you need is thrust stance. If he attacks you at first, dodge and keep distance (not too far) and then you charged up your heavy attacks up to 3 focus. He will walk slowly to you and then hit him and repeat this until more than half of his health is gone. Keep in mind every time you hit him there's a good chance at long distance when you start to charge again he will attack you like his first attack so just dodge and keep a distance. If he's doing a combo just go far away. So if his health is gone more than half (maybe at his second phase) 50/50 chance he will dodge your heavy charge attack. But of course if more than half health is gone, you can go all out with immobilize, then summon the boys also the transformation. You could also use wind tamer it helps. With this method i beat him just two tries. The main point here is not to fight him toe to toe just keeps a distance and run.
Nice. It definitely took me more than two trys to figure out what worked for me. I had a feeling while reviewing the footage that thrust stance would be useful against him. I'm glad to get confirmation on that. I may try that for the first half of the fight in NG+.
He is a pretty aggressive boss. I think my best tips for when you're feeling pressured would be to save your immobilize and cloud step spell and use them defensively and then make sure you have the Weaver's vessel equipped because that can stagger him. You might also check your celestial pills with your dog and maybe respec those a little bit more into HP mana and defense@@thecrowfliescrooked

One advice when the boss is really aggressive is not to dodge away from him. Try to stay as close as possible if you play souls games you know this you pretty much just circle around the boss and you can avoid many of the attacks! Good luck, just finished the game at lvl 105!! GOTY for me! Ps: if you don’t plan to play NG+ make sure to “check” for the secret ending!
The name of the vessel is called the Weaver's Needle and is unlocked a little further into chapter 4, but will not lock you out of the boss fight with yellow Long.
Every time I watch these videos of how easy he is the boss isn't as aggressive as when ya'll play him. I'm like I don't need a guide to beat this version of yellow long because he not really attacking. How you get him not to attack you when I play there is no opening and i used white tiger dude he folded me. No staggering hits or nothing lol

Some Bosses do seem to be a bit less or more aggressive depending on how close or far you are to them and what options they have to attack within those ranges. In terms of stagger and the white tiger, It seems like he does deal good stagger but he is one of the slower transformations so it can be harder to play. A lot of people seem to prefer the Red tides transformation. Also someone else pointed out thrust stance is really good during the opening of the fight, you might try to poke him from afar for the first part of the fight, then cloud step I to pluck of many and the staff guy mid fight. Good luck with him.

Every time I try these methods this dude hunts me down like he's insane...he doesn't stop going at me....ever.
