First Generation (2002-2008): The BMW Z4 was first introduced in 2002 as a successor to the Z3. The initial Z4 3.0i models were equipped with a 3.0-liter inline-six engine producing 225 horsepower. This generation featured a distinct design with a long hood, short overhangs, and a retractable hardtop option.
Second Generation (2009-2016): The second-generation Z4 was launched in 2009 and featured a more aggressive design language. The Z4 3.0i variant received an upgraded 3.0-liter inline-six engine with an output of 255 horsepower. The car also received various technological advancements and improvements in performance and handling.
Third Generation (2019-present): The third-generation Z4 was unveiled in 2018. The Z4 3.0i variant returned with a 3.0-liter inline-six engine, producing 335 horsepower in this iteration. Here are a few problems that have been reported by some Z4 owners:
Cooling System: Some Z4 owners have reported issues with the cooling system, such as coolant leaks or failures of the water pump or thermostat. Regular inspection and maintenance of the cooling system can help prevent these issues.
Electrical System: Electrical problems can occur in older vehicles, including the Z4 2003 model. Some owners have reported issues with various electrical components, such as window regulators, power seats, or exterior lighting. Ensuring proper maintenance and addressing any electrical issues promptly can help mitigate these problems.
Convertible Top: If you are considering the Z4 with a convertible top, it's worth noting that there have been reports of convertible top mechanism failures or leaks. Regular lubrication and maintenance of the convertible top mechanism can help prevent issues and ensure proper operation.
Subframe Mounts: Some Z4 owners have reported failures or cracks in the subframe mounts, which can affect the vehicle's stability and handling. It's recommended to inspect the subframe mounts during regular maintenance and address any issues promptly.
Suspension Components: Suspension components, such as control arms or bushings, may wear out over time and require replacement. Owners have reported issues with suspension noise or excessive tire wear. Regular inspections and maintenance can help identify and address suspension-related problems. - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
Absolute beauty. Looks better than most BMWs today.
Yes..it's truly a car to put in your garage!
Nice enthusiastic review, thanks. 👍🏽
You are welcome!
Svaka čast, super video!
Hvala! Trudim se
Got 2.5i 5 speed manual 2003 for 2 years now and absolutely love it.
Great to know that.
nice video, I would simply slow the pace down a little, and still keep the excitement
Thanks for the tips
Actually!
Could you drop link or reference to those rims? 🔥
I will ask the owner
I do think they’re going up in value but not the automatics nor the smg’s. They take all of the fun of the driving experience
Oye boludo! He just sounds Argentinian
Hey, I am from Croatian.
Sadly yes, they are overpriced. Don't get me wrong, nice to drive but plagued by issues and none of them are easy or cheap.
Of course, every car has them. And getting older hard to repair.
@@drivenwheels1 True, but their price also reflect those issues. The Z4 is supposed to be a fun car, but the steering issues are quite literally dangerous and the various other problems such as the leaking engine become much more pronounced with age. A cars value in the second hand market should reflect rarity, repair prices and demand and in short, an unreliable summer car in an age of increasing fuel costs and attacks on the older cars means this thing is just too much money in the markets these days. There are loads in the UK going for around £3500 - £4000 and simply not selling as they're about £1000 to £2000 too expensive.
@@jeffmcadam9071Stop moaning and don't buy one then, I've enjoyed my 3.0 for 7 years with no major issues, And I still won't sell it because modern cars are boring af.
@@coaldust01 I didn't. I bought a Z3 instead :)
@@jeffmcadam9071 I like the Z3, As long as it ain't the 1.9 4 pot, 2.8 widebody would be my choice, Went for z4 because better interior and roof and many improvements, I test drove a few newer cars when I was thinking of getting something else and they just felt soulless, So I kept the zed, Straight six with a 6 speed manual and you can't go wrong.
Is that a custom hardtop or did they come like that?
You could have order it separately from BMW at the time.
