I still have one parent and baby. Feeders and flowers. They keep to their routine.
We live in Hodgdon, Maine. The males leave the end of August, beginning week of September. The girls a week or two later. We have the ruby throated ones.
Hi Robbie - I'm in NorCal between Sacramento and San Francisco - it's my first year feeding the hummingbirds, and I think the ones I fed during the summer have moved on and the ones in feeding now are new. A friend said a cousin lives about 40 miles from me and has hummingbirds all year long - I'm interested in seeing how it goes this winter.
Unfortunately where I live in Pennsylvania I cannot feed hummingbirds because the bears rip the feeders down. Even in trees.
I'M SORRY TO HEAR THAT.
Rarely do you answer any of my questions that I've posted on your channel 😢😢😢
Hi Robbie! 2 weeks ago we had 20 hummingbirds and I was making sugar water like a crazy woman, my husband called me: sugar mama 😂. They were here long enough for my husband to make a wood sign for my yard that reads: Hummingbird Ln. A couple of days ago it seemed like they almost all left! I only have the male bullies left. I saw 5 - 7 today. I also saw an Oriole at the very top of an oak tree yelling / singing to me, lol 😅
Hello Robbie you have gotten me so interested in helping the birds. I have watched you for a good while and have always learned from you I put out 3 feeders for hummingbird and after the second day I saw 1. Others tried to come but the first little bird chased them away. After a day or two I had 4. And like you were saying they are gone. I live south of Dallas, Texas. I’m still cleaning n changing their water. Thank you for putting this information out for the people to learn n enjoy. Kim
My hummers here in central AR have really decreased in the last couple weeks. Orioles have been gone a few weeks.
In central Missouri we put out feeders from April 15 to about Sept. 15. This year we had some still here about a week later than usual and so we keep the feeders out.
I'm in Columbia and saw just a couple over the weekend but then didn't see any during this week, but I'm leaving my feeder out just in case just like you! 💓
I live by Modesto Ca. in the central valley. I am lucky and have some resident hummingbirds, maybe about 6. They are always chasing each other. I have had a influx with the migrations but it's tapering off. I think they have already mostly gone where they were going to get through here. I am slo feeding house finches, house sparrows, and have seen mocking birds and a wood pecker I have had a hard time identifying. It's mostly black with white head and black stripes running above and below the eye with a red patch on the top of the head. Oh and the scrub jays come by daily. I also feed a pair of mourning doves. I have no orioles.
Hi Robbie. My 3 hummingbirds stuck around an extra month from last year here in Southern Idaho, Magic Valley. Have a wonderful evening.
Hi from Michigan, orioles have been gone about 3 weeks,i saw a hummingbird at my flowers yesterday (9-26-24),love your videos
Wonderful! Thank you so much ❤
I still have two small hummers hanging on here in north middle Tennessee. Hurricane Helene's outer bands have arrived, and it's been pouring rain nonstop for a couple of days with more to come. Not sure how long those little ones will stay, but with the winds and rains, I'm hoping they'll hang around until this storm blows elsewhere. I've been keeping a close watch them and my feeders and will change the feeders out tomorrow. I've kept 4 of them up. Want to do what I can for these little ones. I'm thinking they're too small yet to migrate.
I am in middle TN also! A couple of days ago I had a bunch of hummers around the 2 large feeders I have. Having to fill one back up everyday! Now since the storm has come in I have only seen 2. I hope they all escaped the storm!
It was a great year here in the UP of Michigan. Very good numbers and very good weather. The 17th was the last day of the birds here . I was surprised they stayed so late into the month but the weather is good.
Wow, that is Wonderful to hear, thank you ❤
I live in the city in Phoenix. I have one pair of hummingbirds that seem to live here all year. But even they come and go depending on blooms outside of town. I have three large feeders out all year. I think I have about four hummingbirds right now. My orioles are really sporadic. I had a pair in the middle of summer for about a day or so. So I don’t think they breed here, and I don’t provide seed, other than wild plants. I provide plenty of water and nectar. My woodpeckers love the hummingbird nectar.
I live in Alberta, Canada. I haven’t seen a hummingbird since the first week of September. They have all flown south.
Housing DEVELOPERS are the problem in my area. They clear all the land (indiscriminately taking out all the trees [oak, hickory, dogwood, pine, doesn't matter] & plants. Then they erect the ticky tacky houses. Homeowners may or may not have the space or inclination to plant a tree. It's horrifying.
I think mine have left midweek here in central IN. None have been on my feeders the past two days. Today has been extra rainy and windy, so hope they are ok.
🥰I love to watch the live bird show.
I haven't seen any hummings birds sents Thursday morning here in Peoria iL . I got flowers , good . But the weather change here
I'm gradually getting a few more hummers every day. I live in Western Arizona. 113 today, so I am sure they are enjoying the food and water on their journey.
Northeast Missouri. I have a very few juveniles. My flowers are all but gone now. I kept adding flowers as long as they were available. I am still keeping feeders out and will for several more weeks. I am sure the hummingbirds will be gone soon.
I leave my indiana feeders up till the end of october for the stragglers passing through
I live in the Portland, Oregon area. We see Anna’s all year round. I know the Rufous come thru, but have never observed them at my feeders. I also have potted flowers that the hummers enjoy, as well as a small solar bubbler bird bath. I recently set up a Bird Buddy Hummingbird feeder and it’s neat to see them photographed. They come to the feeder, more than I realized. I also have a regular smart bird feeder, with no waste seeds. Both are fun and amazing to watch.
I live in Washington state. I have a more mature female and 2 younger baby Anna’s Hummingbird and recently had a male with full red head show up to my feeder. I have the rolling clothes hangars on order and already purchased more feeders. This is so much fun to watch them. They even recognize me now.
Hi Robbie, I’m surprised you had a junco, I tend to have them on snowy days. I believe they are winter birds but where do they go in the summer? They leave in the spring.
Central California… Still have so many! This is my first month feeding them and I already have hundreds! I’m so glad. Thank you Robbie!
We had 2 bullock orioles come through one morning this week and drank out of the hummingbird feeders 👍but left within about 30 minutes and then left... have not seen them before or since. South Central Arkansas
Sounds like here for us, interesting, thanks ❤
I think I may be getting stragglers coming through. I'll see one one day and not for several days after that. They are heading for south Texas. It gets too cold for them to stay here.
Northern California they never leave 😊
😢feeling sad missed them
September 28th 2024 Kentucky: I still have hummingbirds feeding this morning. I'm assuming the hurricane might be delaying their migration. 💜
I'm in Missouri and haven't seen any hummingbirds since last weekend, but I'm still putting my feeder out just in case!! 💓
That is a good call, take care thanks❤️
Robbie and Gary they are giving away free buckets for people with the pass at Harbor freight
Thank you so much. I’ll have to check that out! ❤️
Phoenix Arizona here. I’m in an apartment and have one hummingbird that perches here all day, one that sneaks in and they take turns chasing each other away. Winter 2023 there were 5 until mid-April.
There are a few bully birds who have found the bird fountain ⛲️ and are making a mess of it, so I don’t know if the hummers are still drinking the water.
I hope there will be more hummers this winter. 🤞
Here in South Central Missouri around Lake of the Ozarks we had about 4 or 5 pairs... and tons of babies in late summer
Most of the adults were gone a month ago, the babies 2 weeks later. I was going to take our feeders in but we see 2 or 3 a couple of times a week. I think we are a put stop on the trail south. Tomorrow I need to change the food and clean the feeders, i will probably go down to one because they are just not going thru the food.
What is the best way to keep the black fungus/mold away? Did you have a video?
I am in Georgia and I still have one feeding. Wondering if it will stay all winter
Should I still keep my feeders up ?
I haven't seen many lately because of the recent fires. Only seen 1 yesterday. But i have to fill up some feeders. Maybe they will come back. I usually have anywhere from 4 to 6 thst hang around in winter even though it goes below freezing here in the High Desert
You were probably right, they’re moving around differently due to the fires, and if they went through there, they may come back. ❤️
@RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy really enjoy your videos and love your sweet personality and positivity
THEY LOVE YOU SO MUCH ROBBIE.
Hi Robbie 🥰
Hi Robbie!
I’m down in North San Diego County. We had a lot of hooded orioles during the summer. a couple Bullocks. They all disappeared in August. During the last 3 weeks I’ve had an increase in the hummers. I’ve doubled the amount of nectar and the frequency of cleaning and refilling. I have no pets and enjoy the birds and yard lizards so much.
Thanks for all this! Your yard sounds amazing ❤️
my Hummingbirds came back three weeks ago! going thru home made nectar gallons of it! They make me so happy. I do have one Bully though that has claimed one feeder all to himself 😂
I have bullies also. Why can’t yall just share?
❤
I love birds
Us too ❤️
Hello Robbie, had a lot, but they are leaving 😢. I am in Missouri. Have only 1 or 2 left. Hubby and I will miss them. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us all. We will leave 2 feeders up till first week of October. ❤
Hi Robbie! I
I'm trying to do my part for the birds also. I have been lucky to have lots and lots of hollyhocks that are volunteers in my garden area and the hummers and bees love them. Bought my first wild finch food that I'll put out this winter. Thank you and everyone that's helping our friends.
Hi Robbie! Thank you so much for all you do to care for these little darlings! I’ve learned so much from watching your videos! I wish I had found you sooner! I just received 6 of the dish feeders and plastic feeders from Walmart ($4 each) like you have. I had the fancy glass feeders and didn’t like them at all. Ended up breaking 2 of them during the summer just trying to clean them. 😠 I just bought all the items you suggested to make my own “chip and dip tray” bird bath and am so excited to try to make one! I think the hummingbirds are all gone from my area now (upstate New York) and I miss them already! It’s going to be a long winter waiting for them to come back! The last one I saw was 09/23 and it was a ruby throat female. But I’ve got all winter to experiment making hummingbird baths watching your instructional videos and buying more feeders. I had two ruby throat males who staked a claim on two of the six feeders and chased all the others away. But I’m going to do what you suggested and add a LOT more feeders and try to outsmart them! Thank you again for sharing your wisdom and your hummers with us!! Please keep sharing with us! God bless you! Toula Lu (Too La Loo 😆)
Greetings from Altadena. For sure the orioles are gone here too. With my ever flowing birdbath in my yard i get the smallest of birds that sing and express their love. Thanks for all your updates and more on here.
Great video!!!
Thank you so much❤️
I love your videos. I live twenty miles north of San Diego. I have six new hummingbird feeders and change and clean as you have talked about. I set the feeders up about three weeks.
I have monarch and flower plants near the feeders. I also have fresh water.
My problem- I have yet to see a hummingbird anywhere near the feeders. I especially look in the morning and evening. Any suggestions??
I did see a couple of Orioles and bluebirds about a month ago.
I am always hopeful that I might see a Cardinal stop by.
Thank you Rich
@@richqualls5157 hi Rich, my question is, have you seen any hummingbirds around your place? If not, I would put one feeder out, so you don’t waste your time, in a very open space so if they flew by, they could see it. Also, what type of feeder are you using something they’ll recognize?
@@RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy I have seen hummingbirds here. But, haven't in some time. My feeders are very similar to yours.
I live in SoCal near you and last week for about 5 days my hummingbird feeders were taken over by juvenile orioles but they’ve now moved on.
I have cleaned and put back my feeders just in case some. Are late because I heard that a few hummingbirds are still in Canada I miss them already❤
Thanks Robbie, sure enjoy your videos. I always learn something new.🌵🥦🌷🥬🐾Zoe🐾🌶️🐍🐣🐱🥰
