- Guys and Dolls, last Friday - the 21st July - Harrods opened their 2023 Christmas Department & I couldn't wait to take you along for a look! I was so excited to see so many glittering & glamorous baubles - did anything catch your eye? Everyone looking around was so excited to have a look and see what's new for this year's festive decor, I loved looking around, and I hope you will do, too!

I worked in the Harrods Christmas card department back in the 60s! I was also one of about of 5 of us up on the furniture department on the queries section! I loved working there, and it was before it was taken over by Dodie's Father. xxx

I love all the baubles in Harrods. I would definitely go broke buying all the lovely things. The picnic baskets Teddy bears, mugs etc. 💕🎄🎅
I wish there would be Christmas decorations and vibes all year around! Just magical! (and i have no religion).

A lot of decorators need to start planning and buying seasonal items at this time in order to be ready to set everything up during the holiday season.
@@paolabueso: Thats True, but they buy usually in bulk at a Wholesale, not in a Consumer Store.
@@paolabueso I worked in a craft/decor store and our Christmas had to be done and completely up (at least 15 decorated trees) by the day after Halloween. It's creeping back, which is fine. Just regular people not involved in retail don't get it!

with the way this is going we are going to be seeing christmas in June and then may and then April until it's Christmas 11 months of the year with january being reserved for stock change......lol .. Im loving the baubles and decorations tbf, everything is just so pretty and I wouldnt ever be able to stick to a theme.
Haha - that would totally take the magic out of it all wouldn't it? I think it works here at Harrods, but I'm not sure I'd like to start seeing it all earlier in other shops.

Haha, that is a good point, Lisa! I'm glad that the big places go a bit earlier, they put such work into making the displays magical and when you get nearer Chrostmas, you find yourself in too much of a rush to enjoy them properly!

It's just gone 1 August! It definitely IS too early for the Christmas Shoppe to be up and running! It takes the wonder and joy away from the season to have Christmas shoved down our throats so early and for four months. I love Harrods but not so much to start the Christmas madness this early.
Doing it to catch the tourist money, commercial greed, wonder how much the baubles cost to make compared to how much they are priced. Rather spend money on gifts.

Hi Queenie-I’m in another shopping centre. I thought I’d say again what I said after I saw your Wimbledon vlog, as I have a feeling u never got the message I sent. Queenie-Harrods Christmas shop is very early-but they’ll b starting up in the big department stores here soon as well. Not that any of the baubles will b to the standards of the Harrods ones! Harrods are right to have the goodies available early as there’s a heavy presence of tourists in the summer there. Have u been to see Barbie yet? I’m thinking about it. I did go to see Barbie, haha! I loved the experience of it - it was really amazing to see people excited to go to see something at the cinema, I feel like we haven't experienced that excitement for a film for a long, long time....

It was really nice to see this old Harrods tradition coming back, I remember going to their Christmas Department in my summer holidays when I was very young.

I think they're doing some cleaning of the facade at the moment before they decorate for Christmas. It was all covered up with advertising. I hope they return soon! Qx

I thought Christmas in July was something invented by Hallmark in America. 😂😂 I was very angry when I saw fall decorations in a store the other day, not to mention Halloween candy, 😡 but I will look at Christmas decorations any day of the year. 🎉😊

Hi there! I noticed a quite few were made in Italy. There was also some that were handmade in England. I've had a look on the Harrods website but under the items it doesn't tell you country of manufacture. I suspect a lot are made in China.

I am trying to figure out how to get some bling in. have lots of small beads. which I plan to couple with leather and velvet.
