I also have to take sleeping pills at night or my paranoia won’t let me sleep. If they were ever switched by accident I’d be just like her crying and worried. Until the feelings pass.

Ash Hardell I recently switched my BC to the mirena IUD (partly in fear that I would not be able to get free birth control) and it's made me so happy. I do not get periods anymore, and my chest does not get swollen (it did while I was on the pill) anymore. Also no remembering to take it! Also you crying made me really wish I could give you a hug ❤️

If you dont have a vagina you cant have a period. A period by definition is the uterus shedding its lining. So therefore, you can not have a period without a uterus, and you cant be a male with a uterus genetically.

Eva G-S I understand where you're coming from. I just got off my lucky streak of not having it for a month by waking up with an unpleasant sight in my (only pair) boxers. So while it does cause dysphoria atleast it makes it so you can know to prepare yourself for the surprise visits
Eva G-S I found it quite fun to track my period and i think you should try it out. you can block the notification and just check it from time to time. I think it deals with things in a fun way as you get to check interesting stuff such as how you communicate with others that day, if you feel motivated or not etc. its like a jurnal .

Hrm... could you get a binder that is a bigger size so you can at least somewhat flatten during your swollen days without too much pain? I was on the pill for many years and recently switched to an IUD. The good part is that I don't have to think about birth control much anymore. The bad part is my cramps came back.

Note: seeing you guys kiss and snuggle makes me miss my bf so much, you guys seem so happy silly which is how my bf and I are....ldr suck... I've been on Ava 30 E (combined pill) for 8 years. I never had regular periods before but I also didn't have cramps, I went on it and had very bad cramps so my doc said to skip the sugars and have a straight period. It was awesome and I had no pms or cramps, nothing for 5 years. Then I moved to the Middle East and they didn't allow my birth control to be sold there so I went on Yasmin, and I skipped like normal, bad idea. Had ripping pain up my vagina during orgasms and random bleeding so I stopped skipping. Then I had raging pms and painful cramps... yay but it was that or nothing and the country I was living in would jail you if you had a miscarriage and were unwed... then I went home and got back on my old pills and was back to my lovely Ava 30 ed, and went to stay with my bf in Argentina for 3 months. Then I came home and decided that I should see what it's like to not take bc, as my bf and I are long distance now I don't really need it... I've had 2 periods in 6 months, a tiny little bit of pms and no cramps at all. At some point I'm going to move to Argentina and I'm not sure what bc they have over the counter, so I'm thinking about getting the implant or something more long term, I want to do it well before I move so I can see what the side affects are and deal with them before I'm in a foreign country... I'm so lucky that my first bc pill worked perfectly for me, I'm just sad that I can't get more than 6months at a time 😞

Hey Ash, Just wanted to say that it's incredible that you talked about what you go through on your period. People often talk about periods very generally, but it's good to talk about specifics. Side note - I love Clue and use it all the time. It's so good and helpful in realising when I'm going to be the most anxious and grumpy during the month, haha. About a week before I get my period I usually get terrrrrrrible anxiety where I struggle to leave the house and for the longest time I didn't understand why. And it turns out it's alllll PMS. Whooo.

OMFG GRACE I KNOW THAT FEELS with Depo! I get migraine with aura so I too, am not allowed estrogen based BC. Depo was great for my migraines but the lack if libido, the depression & weight gain was so awful. I love that you talk about your anxiety and frequent crying. I think sometimes when a person has anxiety and cries, the person they're dating feels the need to fix it all the time, and that can be exhausting, and I think it's beautiful that this is just part of your life and Grace seems to be really supportive and helpful when you need it. I'm going on birth control soon due to horribly heavy and painful periods. I'm consistently anemic because of them and I basically can't leave the house for 1-2 days every cycle. but also I'm in a relationship with a cis man, so I guess it's for actual birth control too, but I wouldn't have chosen to use hormones if I didn't have to

Anyone who knows the clue app? Does it work when you have super irregular periods like me? It's a pain xp. Also I'm a lesbian and I used birth control, to try and regulate my periods and make them less painful. I was on the pill for a while, but I kept forgetting the damn thing and it made me SO FREAKING MOODY all the damn time. I tried different types of pills but I got fed up. I can't get preggo anyway, so I'll just deal with these irregular periods and the pain...And that's where my pill story ends. Woop.
EmilieTheFail I'm not sure if clue will be able to predict your period well, but it can be nice for yourself to get all the data on how regular or irregular you were after a few months. I've been using it for almost a year now and I really like it, but mine is pretty regular.
EmilieTheFail i don't use it to predict, just to track. it is nice to know because you may have to tell a gynecologist when your last period was. also, you can use it to track sleep, exercise, sex drive, sex, mood, motivation, and more.
EmilieTheFail oh and about your pill story, there are other options!! implant (though many say that makes periods irregular; talk to your doctor), depo shot, patch, nuva ring, and iud! i've been struggling with finding the right birth control to control my bleeding for about 3 years now. i commented somewhere above my story. it takes time, but you can get to where you want to be, i'm sure!! good luck x

I get SUPER bloated on my period too! one time i weighed myself the day before and the day after I got my period and I was retaining three pounds of water! :O

Just wanted to say that it's incredible that you talked about what you go through on your period. People often talk about periods very generally, but it's good to talk about specifics.
Side note - I love Clue and use it all the time. It's so good and helpful in realising when I'm going to be the most anxious and grumpy during the month, haha. About a week before I get my period I usually get terrrrrrrible anxiety where I struggle to leave the house and for the longest time I didn't understand why. And it turns out it's alllll PMS. Whooo.

OMFG GRACE I KNOW THAT FEELS with Depo! I get migraine with aura so I too, am not allowed estrogen based BC. Depo was great for my migraines but the lack if libido, the depression & weight gain was so awful. Anyways, "misery loves company" & I guess I just wanted to say I understand completely. 💚💋

I love that you talk about your anxiety and frequent crying. I think sometimes when a person has anxiety and cries, the person they're dating feels the need to fix it all the time, and that can be exhausting, and I think it's beautiful that this is just part of your life and Grace seems to be really supportive and helpful when you need it. it's actually the same with me, but especially for that i really like to have an app that helps me keep track of everything
@eh - Mine are irregular, too! But I love the app because now when my doc asks when my last cycle was I can just check it as opposed to going "uhhh.... let me try to remember..."

I'm going on birth control soon due to horribly heavy and painful periods. I'm consistently anemic because of them and I basically can't leave the house for 1-2 days every cycle. but also I'm in a relationship with a cis man, so I guess it's for actual birth control too, but I wouldn't have chosen to use hormones if I didn't have to
first of all, i just wanted to say i love all the music u included in your video. also, you made me tear up when you cried. i know it's probably something you don't like happening quite so often, but thank you for showing that side, because I'm not a crier, I probably do it once a year, and nobody will see it, because it makes me feel weak. now, i know crying is not weakness, it's my own embedded emotional defense mechanism talking though. So, seeing you face your emotions head on, it's something I'm trying to do, and will continue to try. so, thank you!
My wife is on a low dose estrogen pill same as Grace,because if she wasn't her "monthly friend" would last for several months,making life difficult for both of us.

I'm basically ace but I take the pill because it helps with cramps (which get really bad for me) and there's also the nice extra that I don't have acne anymore. so that's neat. btw what you mentioned about the nuvaring is almost exactly my experience with period cups. I'd definitely recommend them but oh my god don't try to talk about them. especially with old fashioned parents

Anyone who knows the clue app? Does it work when you have super irregular periods like me? It's a pain xp.
Also I'm a lesbian and I used birth control, to try and regulate my periods and make them less painful. I was on the pill for a while, but I kept forgetting the damn thing and it made me SO FREAKING MOODY all the damn time. I tried different types of pills but I got fed up. I can't get preggo anyway, so I'll just deal with these irregular periods and the pain...And that's where my pill story ends. Woop.
EmilieTheFail I'm not sure if clue will be able to predict your period well, but it can be nice for yourself to get all the data on how regular or irregular you were after a few months. I've been using it for almost a year now and I really like it, but mine is pretty regular.

EmilieTheFail i don't use it to predict, just to track. it is nice to know because you may have to tell a gynecologist when your last period was. also, you can use it to track sleep, exercise, sex drive, sex, mood, motivation, and more.

EmilieTheFail oh and about your pill story, there are other options!! implant (though many say that makes periods irregular; talk to your doctor), depo shot, patch, nuva ring, and iud! i've been struggling with finding the right birth control to control my bleeding for about 3 years now. i commented somewhere above my story. it takes time, but you can get to where you want to be, i'm sure!! good luck x
