Saw them earlier this summer, was my second time seeing Dead & Co. They were great - had an awesome setlist and their encore was Knockin' On Heaven's Door in honor of Greg Allman. It's obviously not The Dead and John is not Jerry, but the music truly lives on in a different but still great form. The crowd was all smiles and tears
Same! I saw them in 2015 and had a fun time but wasn't impressed really. They've grown so much the past 2 years. You were at the first show of the tour in vegas I guess? I saw them this tour in Atlanta and the Knocking on heavens door encore was so beautiful. I was only a few rows back in pit but I had my eyes closed, zoned everything else out, just listened to the music and a few tears fall. I'd never experienced it before, I'd heard about *that place* but never been, but just wow. Absolutely unreal experience that I wouldn't trade for anything. Can't wait to catch Dead & Company again. I understand people (especially older fans who saw jerry) not liking Mayer particularly but to say this band is bad is just blasphemy. Thankful that the music lives on and guys like Mayer, Oteil, and Jeff want to help carry the legacy. Oteil sining this tour has been fantastic and I'm no keys player but Jeff lays it down for sure. If for whatever reason he has to miss a show or something though I would kill to see Marco Benevento in on keys for a set.

need a little more juice on this solo marty! Sounds a bit thin
You sound super stiff and uncomfortable when stepping out of the pentatonic boxes. And when you do get out of your element you obviously go back to your pentatonic runs. Just sounded sloppy. I can’t believe I’m saying that to you, you’ve taught me so much!
