Interested in books about the architecture and history of the Dakota, Friar Park, and Tittenhurst Park? I've written a bunch about them. You can find all of them on Amazon and elsewhere. Buying my books helps support my research and productions. Thank you! tinyurl.com/DakotaHistoryCardinal

@@StrangeHistoryXdid you ever see the strange story told by singer Ricky Nelson's daughter about living in the house that was owned by Errol Flynn and how she believes it's possessed by his evil ghost and that it was dragging her on the floor ?
You might want to look for that story .

@@StrangeHistoryXwhen I was a little girl I have vague tecollections of the Danny Kaye show that came on at night ... it was a variety show .
.. if you don't know about it you might want to look for some clips of it here ... as a little girl I loved him and Andy Williams for their evening variety shows ... And believe it or not I even remember watching Hugh Hefner's TV show ... I think it was called After Hours .
I didn't always understand what they were saying or joking about in the interviews but I still enjoyed watching this show and there are episodes and clips here .

Not everybody believes in hauntings , ghosts , and spirits ... I do , I've seen some things that I hope I would never ever have to see again
      .
... but then again it's always interesting to hear other people's ghost stories ... it's just not fun to actually experience them ... especially if you're alone .
So if you want to tell us anything that you've experienced there on the paranormal side there are some of us who would like to hear of them ... if you feel like sharing .

@@gardensofthegods im a believer too but ive only had 1 place that i worked at that was freaky haunted but that building had a seedy history and i kind of got use to the spirits that walked the halls there as it was the alive people i worked with where much more concerning.
But on the other hand ive had 3 other human gosht encounters and i dont know why i seem to see them but ive seen many dead pets of other peoples and 1 of my own, cats mainly.
I personally think some people are just more open to seeing them and some people belive so strongly that ghosts dont exist that they unconsciously shut off that part of our ancestral humanity that they either would never believe it even if its in their faces or only belive it because it was right in their faces. Ie: a more disruptive presence.
And every other encounter they probably did not realize it was not of this realm, kind of like the cats.
They would just think they seen an alive cat and that was that.
I only knew i seen cats because in my frist encounter that was pointed out that i just had an encounter was for example, i walked out of my room and as i was coming out of the door way to run to the toilet, 1 of the cats got under foot trying to smooch up my legs as cats do but i had to go, did not think much of it at first, i thought the silver tabby was one of our cats that had snuck in to escape the cold but from the bathroom i could see both of our cats asleep on the bonnet of my car like 20 seconds later.
This was at my ex husband's grandmother's house where we where staying while our house was getting built and i asked her did she either let nibbles or scruffy in or our just now, Nope but she was quick to say that she see's tommy too but no one believes her, you just met a big silver tabby in the hall or kitchen yeah?
Well he died 20+ years ago and you will see him hanging around there quite a bit, well if he likes you, you will have run ins with him. He must like you!.
      thats just 1 encounter.
I met tommy and after that would see him kind of in my periphery in the hall and kitchen.
It was not like i was getting couch cuddles.
Mind you her son and grand son thought she was mad but i almost stood on her dead cat that she actually showed me photos of abd that was tommy ,so she cant be that bonkers...lol

The first time I stayed there in the 90s Keanu Reeves was living there at 5 PM every day. He would come down to the pool.
he would strip down to his tidy Whiteys and cannonball into the pool
he was kind of in his own little world, and he was quoting Shakespeare
memorizing lines for his next movie
if you want, I can tell you about the ghosts I experienced
While staying in the room where Montgomery Cliff held out for six months

Scott, this was fantastic. Thanks, for sharing. Just read your information to the video. Made me laugh. Your content far exceeds many I've seen on YT. Love the clothing of the 40's especially the women's. If I win the lottery or inherit a lot of money, I'd love to hire you to do a video of my hometown of Buckeye Lake, Ohio. There's a lot of history especially because of the Amusement Park & it's proximity to Columbus. I personally have a lot of memories at the Roller Skating Rink & the Crystal Pool. Also, my Grandparents owned a restaurant on the water front which was adjacent to the Pool & Crystal Ballroom. Ballroom was very popular during the Big Band Era. Quite a few celebrities were at the park. It was similar to a smaller version of Coney Island. You'd be a perfect fit to do a video. What I've seen on YT isn't that good. What made me think of the park was the postcards you shared. I've seen those of Buckeye Lake. Doing this type of content & obviously writing is definitely your calling. I'll keep you posted on the inheritance ;)

NOW Demolished and replaced but we are watching Freemont street be refurbished downtown but there are so many different horror stories from that area. Now our CLASIC TOWN HALL has been converted into a MOB museum. Lol
Lots of historic people lived in the Highlands hotel in LA.
Imo Jolie feels like old money in Hollywood compared to Brad Pitt and their divorce has been going on forever. My hun said they should just get back together and retire and separate recliners like many of our grandparents did to make their marriage stretch.

@@StrangeHistoryX after I mentioned the 1940 semembered the black dahlia case yikes . I was obsessed with the dahlia for so long. Weird enough I lived in an studio apartment in town that way after thr fact I found out it was one if the places sfr stated at. All these hotels became tiny overpriced apartments. So that was freaky . I lived here my whole life ( in San Fernando Valley ) it's just home but once in a while I am reminded of how special it is . Than you Scott! Oh BTW I am.the one that asked you about the magic castle in Franklin Avenue. I am sure you know it. 😏

@@RLC-tr1wn Magic Castle is cool. I need to figure out a way to get in. There is so much about in and around LA that is magical. I used to live up in Topanga Canyon. Totally different world than everywhere around it. I still think that most people daydream about what it was like 100 years ago. Less crowded. Everything was new and vibrant and energetic. Now the idea of getting in a car and going somewhere fills one with dread. Elliot Mintz is smart. He sleeps in the daytime and is up all night. I think John Lennon got him into that routine. I’ve been thinking about doing a project on Laurel Canyon in the 60s and 70s but it’s kinda overwhelming. I might just do individual houses.

I think its safe to say that people *in general* were not happier before 1970s.
I sometimes get homesick for this beautiful bygone era (in terms of clothing, music and architecture), but yea, there were so many social issues that made the time horrible for lots of people sadly.

Guess if I ever get out that way I'll be staying at a Budge Motel if the good folks of Los Angeles have such a thing. Thanks for this well put together video.

I used to lvie there with a friend and the actor Chris Jones. Chris wasnt too well back then. His mind was somewhat challenged. I bathed him and took as best care of him as I could,..when he wasnt taking off into the small forest in the Hollywood Hills. We'd have to go find him and try to get him to return with us. We were always afraid he might harm himself.
The Marmont was absolutely gorgeous in the 70s.

Tunnels like that most certainly had a reason. During Prohibition, booze could be moved back and forth to avoid raids. Prostitutes also could be shuttled from a nightclub to a hotel with discretion.
Content creator here must live a pretty sheltered life. 😅

I appreciate the video and you did a great job!
I want to caution you in regards to your mention about how an attractive celebrity doesn’t need to creep since he could get a lot of women. Creepy people creep bc of the power of it. It seldom has to do with if the person can pull or not.
Again, I really liked your video! I appreciate how you seamlessly introduced historical facts with architecture and made it come to life.
