- Teardown Wifi Smart Plugs with Energy Monitoring.
In this part-2, we teardown the Wipro and Aviga IOT Smart WiFi Plug and found that both plugs PCB are Made in India. Wipro PCB appears more attractive. Both plugs have the same schematic and almost the same components. Working is based on a relay that cuts out the line voltage with input from an MCU reside inside a WiFi module. The current is monitored with the help of a 0.001 Ohms resistor on the neutral line. The signal from this resister is feed into an energy metering IC BL0937. The KWh, IRMS, and VRMS are monitored by the same IC and feed into the application MCU. The whole unit is powered by an SMPS in combination with a 3.3 V linear voltage regulator AMS1117.
If you are buying a smart plug for electricity monitoring, then Aviga is the best choice to buy and it is cheap. While for remote operation both IoT Plugs are equal.

I bought today Halonix 16AMP at 750 rs and it works with Wipro app. So basically all products are same except for minor design changes

but submersible motor ko on off karne k lie toh ek starter switch bhi aata hai ..green and red wala ...usko kaise on off karoge ?? woh toh manually hand press karna parta....Haan if u don't have that starter...then u can use this

I ordered this plug for Scheduling switch on and off for Solar inverter. But even if plug is switched from App still it gives power to inverter. So the purpose is not solved. And in off condition if we check plug with tester it shows power in it. My question is how it is working exactly and why it giving power to inverter in off condition too.

Dear Sir, Thank you for the detailed teardown video. I was thinking of flashing a ESP home software, unfortunately i could not observe the pin identification of the ESP8255 on the board.
Sir my mi 10000 mah power bank is charging but only 1 light blinks for long time
Wipro green board has only F1 but has no F2. Otherhand the blackboard device has both F1 & F2. I have a Smart plug that looks same as this videos plug. The problem is this F2 is damaged with my 11.8A 2Ton General AC, that's why my smart wifi plug goes not working condition. Then I pulled out wire from a cable and attach two poles of F2 with this wire. Finally, my plug is now running condition with low amp appliances. Then I use it for that 2 ton AC and the f2 fuse wire is damaged instantly with bust sound when the AC Compressor starts and also circuit breaker down.
Note: Don’t try this without help of skilled electrician. I have a fault that I use copper wire instead of fuse wire. Fuse wire made with Tin and Lead alloy which has low melting point and high resistance.
