Oh hell yeah! I have 3 of these that have gone on the blink, exactly like this. They have all been left plugged in for several years (like you would be expected to use them!) I have access to a lathe, and I'm a dab hand at soldering, so looking forward to saving myself buying another 4-pack and consigning the old ones to landfill. THANK YOU!
And all that to save putting in a screw to hold it together and make it easy to service, what happened to the right to repair? I think we should all stop buying glued items.

Also I've never seen a multimeter like this and it's perfect for the task.
That is the best repair I have seen to date, and it helps to stop landfill all in on e go nice one, good job, and thanks for the video.
Alexa, add £1000 lathe to my basket
Thanks. This is why two of my Teckins has gone belly up in two years.
I thought the glue job was terrible until the lathe came out again. Brilliant idea!!
Mine was the same. You can carefully prise the case apart, then glue it back with a little super glue.
So i need lathe machine

Brilliant! Will have a go at repairing mine.......
Hi. Do you know what the voltage rating is for the original 470µF capacitor? Cheers.

If you want a real challenge mines doing the same but the sockets square 😂😂😂
what's the purpose of that rotating machine?
That’s a metal lathe. It is the tool that made the Industrial Revolution possible.
