I am an actor and content creator with Hollywood credits including roles on Lucifer (Netflix), Starlight Christmas (Hallmark), JT Leroy (Universal Studios), etc. In this channel, I offer insight to Kpop performances using my 10+ years of training in dance, acting, singing and overall performance. In dance, my forte are contemporary and musicals and have done most of my performances in theatre. Although my channel is mostly known for dance analysis, I am currently inactive in the dance community.

Well, in Japan they're more known and top charts. Their debut stage has many people watching.
A lot of Kpop fans just listen to Korean and since &Team is a JPOP group that's probably why there are few interest from international fans.
That is because they are a J-pop group, and for international fans like me, it's hard to watch their music show or variety show. Even they don't upload videos on youtube. You can only watch it on Japan TV. But I like them a lot. My bias is Harua

I think both he and Taki are also a little hard to notice when you are used to their I-Land look. Those two went through a serious glow-up!! Nicho and K didn't change physically much but man did their confidence grow as well. Definitely prefer the extended version to see everyone a little more!
The extended MV is so so good. You get to see more of the guys stories plus THE ENHYPEN CONNECTION 🙌
I knew that you would like Yuma! He's the boy in striped black jacket that you mentioned earlier at the beginning (7:57 to be precise). He's such a great dancer even from the first glance. J-Hope also acknowledge his talent along with Nicholas when they did Run BTS. I don't know much much their audition era but Yuma caught my attention the most when I watched their dance practice (I watched the MV after the dance practice just to find a bias, yes, that's how I found my biases. Turns out Yuma didn't get that much screen time. Glad I did watch the mv later on lol). The imagery he portrayed mesmerized me. The little things you pointed out, such like the hands, the way he turned his body, etc, were exactly the reason why he caught my attention first. Not to mention his face and voice are cute 😛

The song really gives us emotional factor especially when you see the MV story, wherein K is being bullied but other &team members were trying to save him and want him to feel that he's not alone 😭
The choreo is really gorgeous and they did it so well. The group is full of good sharp dancers. K , Nicholas and Yuma ( the guy in the black clothes you pointed at in the beginning) are my favorites. Rookies and already so sharp , clean and synchronised . I'm proud of this group and I hope more people will discover them and give them a chance even if they're not the traditional kpop group. I'm a musical theatre choreograper. I agree. This dance practice and their debut is so good so early in their career they could go to The Top. K. My fav in ILand. He was the most talented. He is the most talented!
Whatever extra Essence he has is magical. You cant teach that. This choreography is THAT good. I have done my research, and I can't find out who their choreographer is. Do you know? I am so happy Hybe Japan has truly invested in their success with great songs and great choreography. And yes, their transitions and lines are masterful. My only critique of Hybe Japan...many Japanese interviews have NO English subtitles. There are Hulu snd Weverse videos with no translations.
If they want &Team to be world famous then we need international subtitles. I did enjoy your reaction. I can't wait to go back and watch all of your reactions. I'm a Taki fan too. Here is the one problem when they picked 9. They each get less "Screen Time". I would have only picked 7. Taki gets less time to shine. They all get less time to shine. A problem. Your opinion?

I agree, I always thought 9 was too many. During the survival show I always assumed they'd be 7, but they only eliminated 4 trainees. I do love the way the 9 of them create levels though-- 7 people would never be able to create such thorough imagery.

i actually like it when jeff pauses alot..it just shows that he's enjoying
&Team are the werewolves with Enhypen being vampires, with the WEBTOON Dark Moon The Blood Alter with some of the members from &Team in there, such as K, Nicholas, EJ and Taki have been featured in drunk dazed mv when you see a few of the for members.
I love your pauses and explanations. It's why I'm here. I love watching people who know things I don't communicate that knowledge.
I hadn't seen &Team yet, so this is my first taste. The choreography feels very light - like they don't weigh anything, even the sharp moves are so delicate. It still feels like Hybe family choreo, wide stances & level changes and clean clean clean. But this routine is so damn pretty. And instead of each member having big movements, they're using the size of the group to bring that feeling.
I also have a musical theater background and I see what you mean - it's very narrative dance. I'd love to know who choreographed it... Google isn't telling me 🤣

Totally agree on the nostalgia factor of this song, especially in the chorus. I can't quite place what elements bring me back to 2005, but I definitely would have listened to this as a teen.

by the way, I've watched several of reactions to &TEAM's debut and immediately added this one to the top 2! definitely must to watch by everyoneee. and u know what i really REALLY like that we almost have the same way to react over this like i do describe and talk a lot, i do pause, rewind and take a closer and more detailed look for each of them movements.

yes they're werewolves! you'd see more of their storyline once you check out the extender version of this mv and their webtoon too. and i really agree with you on how this song makes me so emotional. unfortunately, it seems like euijoo, fuma and idk if it was taki/maki or both of them? that didn't get enough lines and screen time in this song. but they got their moment to shine in scent of you! the dance practice fixed ver is yet to be released afaik, but the mv itself is already enough ig because it's just the choreography anyway, with fancy camerawork. unrelated note but some fans actually suspect that the i-land girls would be witches or wizards lol.
It is so amazing that you were able to feel the emotions in their transitions because if you go back to their documentary/ show prior to their debut, it was something that their trainers always emphasized and critiqued. I think through their guidance and these idols' constant commitment to that they were really able to exemplify the emotions needed for this songs as shown in how they move and execute the choreography. I love how I relate to your observations. I think it's one of the reasons why I always come to your channel if I want to watch reaction videos. More power!

For the choreo where they go on their knees (by my count, they do it 3x), would it help to wear the all-important knee pads, even for performances? Granted, if they don't wear super skinny pants, they could get away with some form of knee protection because that could lead to bruising, don't you think? Hope you're reacting to 'Scent of You" soon and are just waiting for the dance practice (the MV is more performance but you're the boss here).
ya knee pads would help! but i mean, the more you do it, the more tolerance you would have so it may not bruise as much anymore in comparison to the first time you’d do it

This choreo is full of dynamics, sharp movements for passion and then smooth ones for sentiment. Having been following them from their audition show, it shows how well they've prepared for this debut, both HYBE and the members. Being this well polished since debut, I think they'll only get better from here on. Also I'm super proud of their older members, I never expected seeing idols born before 2000, debuting in this era, even if they are Japanese!

they are following their webtoon concept, dark moon: grey city.
in that khan is like an outcast in his scl as people think he is weird and they think he's a wolf (he is). then the rest of the members joine the scl. they see khan being bullied and they all try to help him, so in the lyrics they're like 'im right here' as in I'm here for you
They really have the best proportions for dancing! I agree, it's so good watching them! So beautiful!

Hmm, commenting on your commentary at the end of what you would have liked ~ maybe you may like Scent of You? That is their official debut song I think, or at least it came out on the day of their debut Dec 7th. Its a WAYYYY different vibe than this, gonna warn you ;) But it showcases each of them more and its spectacular but in a different way.
YUMA BIAS Y'ALL. I've loved watching him perform since episode 3 of &Audition. It's one thing to have strong vocals and another thing entirely to have strong vocals WHILE you're an all-rounder. On a related note, I do kinda see the jazz-dancer in him when he does his solo in Running with the Pack. There's a step in there that looks . . . jazz-y, lol.

I like this reaction so much. The way you pause it doesn't bother me cause you explain things so well and notice the details. Their song is incredible and choreo is really powerful and satisfying to watch.
Please react to Tempest! Hanbin (the Vietnamese trainee from I-LAND) debuted in Tempest in March this year. I think all 7 members are so talented but also so underrated! Bad News (title track) and Can't Stop Shining is more bright songs while Dragon (their latest title track) is more dark. (I like to compare it to an NCT vibe). Hwarang was also on Under Ninteen and LEW and Hyeongseop was also on Produce 101 S2 so you might recognize them as well☺

Yes they have beautiful body proportions because 5 of the members are at least 180cm tall😅 (The shortest one is 175/176 I think)
I saw a tweet that a japanese dtore put up a get to know &team members poster and it said K is 187 cm, Jo 185 cm, EJ 183 cm , Nicholas and Fuma 180 cm . Maki 177 and Taki 176 cm. Yuma and Harua 173.

I love all the connections with enhypen. And how they are vampires and werewolves. If you watch the extended version in the beginning that one guy said. “Werewolves Secure their territory from vampires” so you can definitely tell their is gonna be something with both groups. Or at least I’m hoping.

Hey Jeff, just a quick note from a fellow swearing, oft pausing Canadian. Keep on doing what you're doing. Sometimes a well placed curse expresses more than a more polite word. And pausing helps me a bunch as a non-dancer. I don't catch details easily just my response to the dance overall, which is why I appreciate people like you that do take the time to both mention & show the detail that's caught your eye.
