My favorite singer. So underrated. Her voice can be heard in a lot of jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis projects: The SOS Band, Alexander O’Neil, Herb Albert, and Janet Jackson.
Love this....interesting that Jay and his guests were up out of their seats to watch the performance. Was in the audience of the Tonight Show in 1991 and I don't recall the guests getting up like that to watch Brian McKnight sing!
I first listened to this song in fall 1993 at a Spanish radio station called " 40 principales". They used to broadcast " Rick Dees and the weekly top 40" and this song was there. It brings me the best memories of my teenage days. I had never seen the live performance. Awesome.
I Love Her Love Her Love Her Soooo Much. She's got one of the most beautiful and sweetest voice in the Music Industry and one of the most beautiful faces in the Music Industry. This song 'Better Than You' is one of My All Time Favourites. 🎤🎶❤🙏😇.
Here in my country Philippines It was came out 1993 in a special remix vinyl set called Finyl Edits Volume 5 if I'm not mistaken and I used to play where in the mobile disco era of the 90s DJ.Every DJ play this song and everybody love this song. Until then when they do Livestream Djs play this.
Very nice & sweet voice she was back vocalist for flytetime in the 80 and 90’s.Too bad she only recorded one album in 1993 with perspective records(productions by Jam&Lewis, Narada MWalden etc)I got the cd
I post this on Facebook as well, but I'll say the same thing here. Spencer, thank you for posting this video and keeping this song strong in the public eye! "Hello Lisa, I know I'm a total stranger, and I'm 3 years late to this post, but I just wanted to say that I love this song and I still remember when it came out in 1993. One of my favorite songs of all time (REALLY!) and it is one of a handful of songs that comes on as I'm finishing a marathon. I save the best for last! Anyway, sorry for all the gushing, but listening to this after all these years guarantees that my day will be bright!! Ha Ha Ha!! I just discovered your Tonight Show performance yesterday, and I love it just as much because it's a live version. By the way, I know that you mentioned your mortification at seeing yourself in this video, but I share the opinion of majority of others when I say that you and your band look AWESOME and BEAUTIFUL! Have a great day! I need to go now because I need to listen to this song one more time! Take care!"
when i first heard this song on radio, i thought it was amy grant's new single. and turned out to be lisa keith, whom also sang background for Amy Grant.
I watched this when it originally aired. And I watched Lisa on Star Search when her 2 episodes originally aired. I missed King's English on Basement Tapes. I think it was the only episode in 1987 that I didn't watch. Apologies, Spencer, I guess I just like Lisa better than you.
I love 💕 this chick; when I was a kid and I just had my first stereo system; vh1 and mtv was popular back in 1993. When I saw her in her music video on either channel mentioned; I was totally hooked on her like a drug; she reminded me of Kelly la Brock in weird Science and; she made me want to be a man 😁
Beautiful & Talented Lisa with 2 of her Beautiful & Talented Sisters as background vocals.
We LOVE you, Lisa Keith !
80’s - 90’s songs are the greatest ever.
💯💯
Lisa thank you for your contribution to some of the baddest jams in music history!
My favorite singer. So underrated. Her voice can be heard in a lot of jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis projects: The SOS Band, Alexander O’Neil, Herb Albert, and Janet Jackson.
Very true
And the group Human League
And Karyn White. I always loved her background vocals on "The Way I Feel About You" in 1991.
Love this....interesting that Jay and his guests were up out of their seats to watch the performance. Was in the audience of the Tonight Show in 1991 and I don't recall the guests getting up like that to watch Brian McKnight sing!
Thanks Martin, never noticed that!
A great song , brings back memories. Love it! Can't believe thirty years ago today this song was released. A positive song.
This is on the radio, Beverly Hills 90210 is on the TV and I’m still a kid in the 90s
大好きなアーティスト。いつも、リサさんのCDを聴いています。何年経っても、色褪せない良い曲です。生歌、初めて見ました。感動しました😂 大好きな声色、新譜がでたら嬉しいな〜。
And this was a live performance. Wow ❤❤❤ 👏👏👏

I have that CD!! 🎤🎶❤️💋
Me to I just bought a few days ago by looking at songs on TH-cam back in 1993
But now her cd is out of print these days
This song is freaking awesome. There. I said it.
I'm getting a mix of Dana Dawson and Amy Grant vibes . I used to listen to this song on VOA when I was barely a teenager.
After this album she did backgrounds on Amy's hit "Lucky One."
I post this on Facebook as well, but I'll say the same thing here. Spencer, thank you for posting this video and keeping this song strong in the public eye!

I watched this when it originally aired. And I watched Lisa on Star Search when her 2 episodes originally aired. I missed King's English on Basement Tapes. I think it was the only episode in 1987 that I didn't watch. Apologies, Spencer, I guess I just like Lisa better than you.
You're good with dates! Thanks D Bag

Uh oh, my man Urkel making a cameo.
May i see the full interview lisa keith with jay leno?
That video was pretty much it. Jay was supposed to ask Lisa a few questions, but there wasn’t time.
What date was this on in 1993?
November 1st
The backup singer on the right (turtleneck, hair up) looks like a tv/ movie actress but I just can't nail down who.
Spencer is that King's English in the Background???
Yep, two of them. Bob and Jim! Good eye.
@@asatclassic man i wish you guys could have released an album or 2!!
@Gary Maass well actually Pia Z's "When The Lights Go Out" could be considered a Lisa Keith Album. No Shade to Pia, but this album was and is all Lisa
@@bernardjbutler492 I agree. "I Don't Wanna Love" is one of my favorite Jam & Lewis tracks ever... But I hear Lisa on that more than Pia.
Good performance. My only beef is that the drummer should tune up his snare, man! 😁😄
This song sounds a lot like “If Ever You’re In My Arms Again” by Peabo Bryson.
Females wearin church clothes
Love this song but this was a boring performance.
Why does her back up girls look like witches or some amish
