With Bergvall coming I'd like to say Gyökeres would be a nice option to go with. It sounds like we're doing everything to make Gallagher happen and I thought him and Dewsbury-Hall in midfield with Madders might be really something, but who knows if that'll happen now.

Romero is great on the ball & is incisive with his passing. Certainly, it would change the dial on aerial strength, but could we tame the beast. I'd like to see it trialled.

If Southampton don't make it through playoffs, Kyle Walker-Peters is a no-brainer. Can play on the left and right and is brilliant at making those insider runs. Club-trained (important for Europe) and it's been reported we have a buy-back clause. Premier League proven and only has a year left on his contract so will be affordable.
Someone who gets it alot of these fan channel guys just waffle about Hollywood signings but they don't have much foresight.

My take on this as a Spurs fan that probably doesn't rate some of our players like the rest of the fanbase, it's pretty clear to me what we need for next season that will give Ange a solid base to work off from.
These are my key areas the club must address and fill (minimum):
(#1 priority)
Starting Striker
Starting Right Winger
(#2 priority)
Competition/Starting Defensive mId
Competition/Starting Right-back
(#3 priority)
The other positions/squad depth I couldn't care less if these above aren't met. (basically our ceiling will remained capped)
Son is clearly staying as captain, so there goes our LW spot as we have been looking at strikers for awhile now.
Johnson and Kulu cannot be our starting right winger next season (huge cap on the celling of our attack)
Johnson is way too limited with the ball, predictable/inconsistent with his cross and is poor at receiving the ball (which contributes to alot of his big chances missed)
Kulu is self explanatory, not a natural winger and enjoys to be more upfront and around the box than keeping width out wide (which he is tasked to do)
Defensive mid: Hojbjerg is clearly leaving, so we have Bissouma and Bentancur as potential starters next season. Both are solid press evaders but the club should look at current players that play as a 6 that are better at breaking up play, defending transitions and winning duels.
Right-back: Porro will be our only option as Emerson should leave. But defensively Porro is very vulnerable. Club should look at someone that is better at 1v1s and defending the backpost/ defensive awareness in the box.
4 positions that the club should address and I will probably be content no matter what, depending on the level of the player brought in.
Yeah Johnson does seem quite limited. Considering how well we have been doing in the transfer market recently I am surprised we spent nearly £50 mil on him. Doesn't look like a great investment
@@healthymindhealthybody9324 Very limited player. I don't like to just say "bad player" and move on so I'll expand on it. He's young, has some potential, but in my opinion, decent for mid-table side, not a potential European cup/title challenging side we want to eventually become.
People love to bring up his "G+A" but if you actually look deeper at his underlying numbers, he is hugely underperforming the opportunities he gets in this team, and overperforming his expected assists by over 100% with teammates in Son and Richarlison who have overperformed their xG this season.
He's unfortunately bottom 1% in xG (expected goals) conversion in all of the top 5 leagues for wingers/atk mids.
It's like have 20 big chances, scoring 10 of them and fans going, "Look, he scored 10 goals, what a good player."
Now that we better understand his "stats", as "stats" aren't the be-all end all of evaluating a player, we use the eye test instead. Which unfortunately, is where he fails the most for me.
My biggest gripes are his, both very limited arsenal and inconsistent final ball delivery. He is clearly not a great dribbler or very inspiring on the ball. Most people would agree his best attribute is not really a footballing specified one in his pace.
And at this level, you just become way too predictable, easy to defend and end up wasting opportunities in the final 3rd.
I think most people can see how many times he crosses straight into a defender, or tries to ambitiously cross it across a full box of defenders where they easily deal with it or he completely overhits it.
Second, is his poor control when receiving the ball, many times, you will see the ball slide right off his boot and lose possession, the same issue is there when positioning his feet to take a first time shot where he may completely mishit the ball .
He just seems to never be ready to receive the ball either due to a technical or focus issue and we always think, "oh, he got unlucky there", or "the pass was too strong".
I think the club kind of panicked towards the end of the last summer window when Kane got sold right before the season started, and they needed a HG forward in numbers to replace Kane, saw Forest had FFP problems and tried to get a "good deal".
He did not even stand out at Forest and probably still would not at a club I feel better suited for him in Brentford. Since he's already here, has a good personality in the squad and since it's probably unrealistic to see him getting sold, I have little problems as long as he is not our starting winger.
Totally agree. More athlete than footballer. Hard to believe we spent half the Kane money on him. But like you suggest, that's not his fault, we chose to spend that money on him

Good morning Alice & Sonny, you make a good team, the EURO's could well make this a messy window, will have to wait and see. The defensive cover needs addressing and fast for spurs. What I don't agree with is some fans saying BIG signings and putting a price on it, Cole plamer was £40 million ! It has nothing to do with the price on the players head, VAN the man was another steal, if Ange seriously wants to challenge the top 3 for the prem then we must be ruthless in selling so many of our players that clearly are not at that level !

Great content! Spurs still need a lot of work to do in order to transform this squad. For me, the priorities are Hiroki Ito as a LCB & LB cover, Nico Williams to cover both wings and offer us some much needed unpredictability and Youssouf Fofona as our new athletic no. 6 destroyer.
I agree. If you got Sesko, Nico Williams and either Wieffer/ Fofana in midfield that would be my options but you’ve not been credibly linked to them.

Believing/accepting/briefing that Spurs are way down the pecking order when it comes to challenging for tier 1 players is the very fragility that Ange was highlighting. Levy will spend but it will be limited. We wont blow £80m on one player it will probably be 6/7 transfers between 10 - 50mil. Total spend will be around £150m

Kenny Tete, Onana, CHO, Edwards. Thse are the players we want? No wonder we don't win anything when we buy players from relegation fighting teams that can't even start for those teams. Tete and Onana don't start right now and CHO was the replacement for Johnson which we paid way to much for already. Honestly I would go as far as blowing an entire £120 million net spend on Olise and Eze at the start of the window if that's really what Palace have quoted... If we're not at least triggering that £60m release clause I don't know what we're doing man! 🤣
Goals galore with them two on either side of Son up front. We would control games so much better with technical wide forward that carry a bigger threat and more pace, it would open up so much space for Son and they would give him much better service from out wide
We've got players to sell that can fund the defensive cover and the CDM, plus some very exciting academy prospects up front (Will Lankshire in particular), and I think we'll be much more solid if we had that extra technicality out wide to control the ball even more and pin back the other team.
Why would both of them come to tottenham when they have chance to go for bigger clubs with title ambitions...they used crystal palace as a stepping stone so why would they join tottenham which will be another stepping stone club for them ?

First of all, per the original comment, signing them is *what I would try to do* ... IE, not what I think the club will do and not what I think would happen.
To be fair to you, it is funny to think about Spurs immediately doubting a player's ambition after they've agreed to sign, but that's not really how it would happen... and obviously no club in Spurs position with a need to sign wide forwards would realistically pass on an opportunity to sign either of those players at £60;million each as reported 😂
Any team that puts in the right bid can chat to the player and discuss the details of a move before making a final decision. That is an actual clear fact and it really that simple.
Although it's obviously more of an outside chance, Spurs and Ange have publicly stated their title ambitions... albeit very optimistic to say the least, they have that goal and trying to get good players is pretty important to that 🤷♂️
I look at the top three clubs right now and I don't see either of Eze or Olise in the starting 11 week in/week out over the likes of Saka, Salah, Silva, Foden, Grealish, Doku, Martinelli, Trossard, Diaz, etc. Maybe they don't care about that, I don't know, but they've both signed deals at Palace while being linked to bigger clubs already.
Then there's Spurs/Villa/Newcastle/Chelsea/Man U where they could play a lot and have a natural step up from Palace. Spurs are the only one of those clubs both without any kind of FFP issues and European football guaranteed. They can just put the money on the table without selling anyone first, get on the phone and sell the project.
It's not unrealistic for Spurs to want them and then to be sold on the move. It's unrealistic for both of them to go though for sure, but I'm just sharing what I would like my club to do... Not really bothered about the realism 😂🤷♂️

Keep Richie and get a new striker or sell Richie and get 2 new strikers.. Makes zero sense to sell only striker and replace with another but we need at least 2 strikers.. PEH is heading out so we need to replace with another midfielder preferably a top No 6. Spence and Rodon could be good back-ups.. Both of them are having really good season in their loaned clubs especially Rodon.. It would be nice to get a LB, CAM and Winger as well to fully strengthen the squad..
