This is way more extensive than the time Phineas and Ferb did something like it.
7:11 I Like how at first Mrs. puff is willing to defend Spongebob for his destructive and careless driving, taking responsibilty for it. It shows that really deep down she actually cares about him despite all the hardships he puts her through.
This episode really is more about Mrs. Puff’s character reaching her full comedic potential than her career as an educator. It was a good idea to wait to react to it.
There is a fan theory about this episode that Mrs. Puff is have a mental breakdown reliving the first time she went jail, because in the episode, where she steals the boat from SpongeBob, she talks about how she’ll have to change her name and go to a new city with the new driving school and then she says not again, implying that she’s had to do that before there’s a lot of little hints as well that Mrs. puff is not just a driving teacher, and that something dark has happened in her past
Let's count the layers of that "straighten you out" joke (minus your pause):
* The cops beating someone for some reason (1)
* Those unforgettable sound effects from the nightsticks (2)
* The reveal that they were clubbing a parking meter (3)
* Closer inspection shows that they really did straighten it out (4)
* The way their eyes squint at the other parking meter (5)
* SpongeBob actually running down a whole building (6)
* The passion in the female cop's "Barnacles!" (7)
* The cops being more concerned with the lack of a front license plate (8)
That's 8 layers of comedy in the span of 13 seconds!

Tbh it is really hard to not sympathize with Mrs. Puff at this point. I find the older I get the more I feel bad for Mrs. Puff that she has an in denial maniac student like Spongebob.

I agree with you that this episode wasn't so school heavy, so I appreciate that you were still open to taking a look at it anyway. I also appreciate what you were saying about what teachers shouldn't say to students during the scene with the chili, and what you were saying about teachers who might want to consider other paths in life if things aren't quite working out for them enough.
Right now I'm actually working in Japan as an English tutor essentially, and now that I've been at it for a while I would say that even though I certainly do care about the people who show up for help with English, tutoring work has taken a bit of a toll on me haha. But your channel is really resonating with me and helping me with wanting to keep my spirits raised, so thanks🙂

"Krusty Love": Mr. Krabs falls in love with Mrs. Puff and goes out with her.
"Summer Job": Mrs. Puff works under Spongebob at the Krusty Krab.
Summer Job isn’t great. But if the principal wants to watch it he can. Just my personal opinion.
@@donnaasburyhe should avoid Demolition Doofus because, even though Mrs. Puff is in the episode, Spongebob damaged her badly, causing her to lose her ability to puff up, and made fun of her illness, and aside from that, when they were in the demolition match, she asks him “WHY ARE YOU STILL ALIVE??” That’s going a little too far saying that to him, so that episode is junk, to me at least. Yes, he was being mean, clueless and ignorant in that episode, but telling him to end his life is just extreme

You got it right though, it is dark and it doesn't feel real, the most accepted theory is that this episode never a actually happened, it's all Mrs Puff having a mental breakdown... and it was hilarious 😂
Things like she saying she already lost her sanity once, knowing how to steal cars, having left a city, changing her name and starting a new school... There's a whole video talking about Mrs Puff secret and dark past.
Btw, if 2 students go to see you and you ask the other one "and why are you here?" And they tell you "he likes chilli" then you gotta let them stay 😆

would be interesting if instead doing to the whole camp coral series, that would have a series were sponge goes to school, and just like driving scool, is able to ace everything when it comes to school, except gets to nervous and fail the tests, know it might sound stupid, but hey its a lot better then that camp koral series they have

I never noticed how unfitting the background music at the start of the episode is - I get it's the boating school theme which is usually used to set the tone for that location, but it feels way too calm when put to Spongebob racing around and destroying everything in his path.

Actually, people get put in solitary for all kinds of bs. For some prisons, solitary confinement is the only way to seperate an inmate at risk from other inmates, so someone who just needs protection from physical attack would go to solitary. There was a judge in Tennessee who used to put kids in solitary for 3 days minimum for things like swearing in her courtroom. Prisons are exactly where bs happens because people won't believe or care if the inmates are mistreated, so reports are unlikely to be filed/taken seriously. There was a streamed court appearance of a woman who was in prison for 3 days before she had to appear in court. When she did appear in court, she had on a prison top and nothing but the underwear she was arrested in on the bottom. She'd been asking for pants and feminine hygiene products for 3 days and was denied. The judge called the prison right then and there and she was *livid*.
Anytime you refer to an American prison and say, "That doesn't happen!" What you mean is "that shouldn't happen". But it definitely does.

Because of how hard the writers went on Mrs. Puff's mental anguish, it has been more difficult to stomach the later episodes centered around her having to deal with Spongebob. It goes to show that even the nicest, most well-adjusted person can destroy themselves if they, like you said, base their entire life's status around the existence of someone else. I actually enjoy the episodes around Mrs. Puff that don't rely on her mental torment and let her be more of a person, like Krusty Love, where we get to see she has a very sweet side to her as she goes out with Mr. Krabs.

In all honesty, I believe both puff and SpongeBob should have been imprisoned.
In prison, solitary confinement is a real thing, and it's been likened to psychological torture. In some cases it can cause actual brain damage because the mind needs to rewire itself to deal with the total isolation. Being in a room that is completely one color also seems like they're subjecting her to sensory deprivation, which causes further damage as the brain has nothing to focus on as far as senses go. Hallucinations and talking to oneself often happen _because_ of these conditions as the brain becomes despite for anything to cling to and so will invent patterns and people on it's own. Obviously there are life sentences, but in most cases prisoners are meant to get out at some point, and this stuff does deep, often permanent damage to the brain. So yeah, a lot of people are calling prisons barbaric for still using such methods.

There is also an interesting one called "Curly snaps" that is a little bit of a heavy subject that much of the episode plays out like a "shooting" situation without any guns of course and instead are kickballs. It would be an interesting episode to talk about too. It aired in Sept. 1998.
