Small Propeller Clock in protective transparent case

Max speed around 40Hz with a 40 x 40mm fan. there is no led driver or latch for the LED's, only an npn transistor and even that is not really required. Both a hall sensor and an IR pair will work well and give a stable image, I used an IR led and phototransistor

the circuit at the base of the case does 2 things. (1) it provides power to the primary coil of the air transformer located on the motor, and (2) it allows the user to manually change the speed of the motor.
This circuit could have been hidden but I chose to show it instead

The schematic is there. Go to the Soubry website I mentioned in the description of this video. When you're at the Soubry website click on the electronics button at the top left of the page (it's between the mechanics and software buttons). You'll see links for the schematics for the air transformer as either .gif or .sch files under 'The base electronics' section (for the primary coil of the air transformer) and 'the propeller electronics' section (for the secondary coil).
