Jamie's especially, seemed a perfect wedding between Korean and Indian elements. The flavors and textures are familiar enough that I can tell just by looking at it that I would thoroughly enjoy it. Mike's looked delicious, but I would have had to actually taste it to judge how successful it was. Based on looks alone, I would have handed the victory to Jamie, but if I had been able to taste Mike's, I might have reached the same conclusion as Ben. Baz gets full points for creativity, but he might have pushed the boat out too far. It might have been delicious in person, but its identity was lost.
Barry's dish honestly seemed like a case of "Too much of a good thing". As Ben himself said in the video, Barry was essentially fusing two fusions together.

Something I wonder from those battles (and from most cooking shows actually) : considering that we see the normals preparing their dish individually in the kitchen and they all look quite time consuming to make, and at the end we see three plates in front of Ben, have two dishes been sitting there getting cold while the other one is getting done? How much time takes place between the moment the clock for the cooking ends and the moment the eating starts? Are some dishes warmed back in the microwave or something ?

Would seriously suggest trying the PW Kimchi. Got some today and it's amazing. Gonna keep my cupboard stocked with this stuff from now on. Can't wait to try it in Mac & Cheese.
Too easy on the normals?!? I'd hate to see you being evil then, Ben. But can't wait because I adore kimchi and have three types in the fridge at the moment.
Among the food culture of Korea, special things that distinguish it from the food culture of other countries. // 1. Perfect vegan food represented by Korean Buddhist temple food 2. An endless variety of soup dishes 3. Kimchi: Vegetables fermented with animal protein represented by cabbage kimchi. In the past, only Koreans made and ate it. There are over 800 types of kimchi. 4. Jeotgal: A fermented animal-based sauce made from seafood. In Korea, there are more than 140 different types of salted fish. 5. Ssam: It means wrapping all the ingredients you want to eat in various leafy vegetables represented by lettuce. However, unlike burritos, you have to swallow them in one bite, so you need to adjust the amount of ingredients to be wrapped appropriately. 6. Herbal Medicine Ingredients : Herbal medicine ingredients are not only eaten for special diseases or health, but are also often used for general home cooking. For example, as ingredients for Samgye-tang, Mulberry, Tree Aralia, Eleutherococcus Sessiliflorus, Mongolian Milkvetch, Korean Angelica, Ginger, Jujube and Korean Ginseng are used. 7. Namul : South Korea is the country that eats the most dishes made with only vegetables without meat and seafood protein. Namul are foods made with one edible plant as the main ingredient. Examples of the types of Namul include Shepherd's Purse, Stringy Stonecrop, Korean Angelica-tree, Korean Wild Chive, Butterbur, Bracken, Doellingeria Scabra, Bamboo Shoot, Chamnamul and Cirsium Setidens. // Etc... Korea shows a distinctly different food culture from neighboring countries in Far East Asia (China, Mongolia, Vietnam, Japan).
I really think that Jamie is getting surprisingly good in this kind of stuff as time goes on. In my opinion, his idea was the best example of fusion. Barry has just overdone it, and however Mike made the most interesting one, but I would still try the pakoras as a "go to" kimchi fusion dish.
My favorite uncommon use for kimchi: grilled mochi (rice cake), filled with chopped kimchi and cheese, brushed with soy sauce and wrapped in seaweed. So good!
My mum and I have been joking about sending you guys homemade kimchi since it’s way better than the tinned stuff and there is so many types out there! Do hit us up if interested 🤣 Love from a little British-Korean family! ☺️
How do you know you might have been watching too many Sortedfood videos? I just thought of three jokes right before Ben cracked them. So I’m guessing I’m close. 😉🤯
i agree with ebber's assessment at the end: Jamie's is street food, great to share with a few others while wandering around market or sitting in a park. Not sure exactly when i'd go for Barry's pizza-burrito thing, but Mike's just LOOKS like a dish to serve for a desert...
I agree with Ebbers. Mike is very creative, sometimes he misses and sometimes he hits it out of the park. This is a hit. Very creative, and sure it's very delicious. Good job guys.
Not that he needs it- but did anyone else feel like Barry was rolling that “gyro”(sp?) like a sushi roll!?- just to add one more cuisine into his mix! 😂
The very fast, very sudden jump from Barry's to Mike's dish makes me wonder what in the world the boys said that they couldn't use...... Also, 100% agree with Ebbers - that pineapple thing was what intrigued me the most and I'd like to try it myself :)
Would love to see a spin the wheel type series with you guys - cuisines, hero ingredients, what course it is, equipment, rogue ingredients etc type of thing, all decided by chance and them just having to go with it 😅
I do agree with Ebbers, been using Kimchi myself in cooking recently, very versatile and can be an easy refreshing little side to any dish, also for fermented cabbage doesn't taste MASSIVELY CABBAGY like we might expect in the UK being used to boiled cabbage.
Spaff's dish is something you'd get with friends before going out. Casual, sharable, tasty. Baz's dish is something you'd get after you've been drinking all night. Sloppy, devious, delicious Mike's dish is something you'd get at an elevated fusion resturaunt. Innovative, delightful, trendy
I make my own kimchi once or twice a year in 3-5 gallon batches (so think one of those big hardware store buckets, if you have a hard time visualizing volume), and we like to do the following: + Kimchi burgers -- lightly seasoned beef patty, mozzarella/muenster/oaxaca cheese melted on top, and a handful of warm (but not cooked) diced kimchi on top of the cheese. Any bun you want + Kimchi egg salad -- regular mustard/mayo boiled egg salad, but with diced kimchi tossed in + Kimchi mac n cheese --- 1lb dry pasta cooked in 2qts whole milk, stir in 3 heaping cups of grated cheddar when the noodles are just shy of done, add any seasonings, stir kimchi in upon serving. (trying to add it to the whole batch will just curdle the sauce once it sits for a few minutes) + Kimchi breakfast burritos -- standard breakfast burrito stuff, egg/cheese/chorizo or beans/mole, but instead of other vegetables or salsa, use kimchi + And of course the more classic fried noodles, jjeon, and just eating it plain as a side dish with rice.
Now that Barry has made a fusion burrito, Mike has to make one. Complete the trinity.
What should Mike's be?

I'm sorry, Bas, there was just a little too much going on in yours for me to get on board with it, but top points for creativity!
I would love to see behind the scenes of the food team coming up the dish ideas. how much input do the normals actully have.
the pronunciation of haemul pajeon was interesting lol
I really like how you guys approach sponsodes videos. It's still 100% Sorted authenticity, and as a viewer you can learn about great products that can be used to make tasty food from different cultures without much research and effort. Keep it up, guys!
I so hope these recipes end up in the Sorted app !
They're in the description box below the video for ya :)
What a lovely stash of Kimchi you have!
Among the food culture of Korea, special things that distinguish it from the food culture of other countries. //
1. Perfect vegan food represented by Korean Buddhist temple food
2. An endless variety of soup dishes
So good!
sounds delicious!
My mum and I have been joking about sending you guys homemade kimchi since it’s way better than the tinned stuff and there is so many types out there! Do hit us up if interested 🤣 Love from a little British-Korean family! ☺️
Woww these recipes are truly inspired! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
How do you know you might have been watching too many Sortedfood videos?
I just thought of three jokes right before Ben cracked them. So I’m guessing I’m close. 😉🤯
Mind reader!
@@SortedFood haha. Considering that this video was made weeks ago, I need to work on my skills a bit more. 😉
i agree with ebber's assessment at the end: Jamie's is street food, great to share with a few others while wandering around market or sitting in a park. Not sure exactly when i'd go for Barry's pizza-burrito thing, but Mike's just LOOKS like a dish to serve for a desert...
As Mike said, "I agree with Ebbers."
Mike deserves a fusion badge!!!!
Did Barry forget his pineapple allergy again
I agree with Ebbers.
But I would also order Jamie's and Barry's creations before dessert. All three sound/look amazing. 😋
I thought baz was allergic to pineapple?
More so when it's raw. It's the enzymes.
ooooh! now that's three dishes I just really have to try! Excellent work!
Sorted: British people make Korean fusion
Me: Haven’t the Koreans been through enough?
I agree. This episode was fun to watch. The pineapple dessert was so intriguing. I think think I really need to try it.
I respect everyone who were involved in this Seriously the best piece that i ve ever seen on TH-cam 💌 Hate off to well all 💟 love your videos ❤ ..
The very fast, very sudden jump from Barry's to Mike's dish makes me wonder what in the world the boys said that they couldn't use......
Also, 100% agree with Ebbers - that pineapple thing was what intrigued me the most and I'd like to try it myself :)
Would love to see a spin the wheel type series with you guys - cuisines, hero ingredients, what course it is, equipment, rogue ingredients etc type of thing, all decided by chance and them just having to go with it 😅
Dishes looked good..they are all getting good
I do agree with Ebbers, been using Kimchi myself in cooking recently, very versatile and can be an easy refreshing little side to any dish, also for fermented cabbage doesn't taste MASSIVELY CABBAGY like we might expect in the UK being used to boiled cabbage.
Spaff's dish is something you'd get with friends before going out. Casual, sharable, tasty.
Baz's dish is something you'd get after you've been drinking all night. Sloppy, devious, delicious
Mike's dish is something you'd get at an elevated fusion resturaunt. Innovative, delightful, trendy
Barry has such kinetic and creative skills. So many people wouldn't have been able to roll that crispy, very stuffed pizza so beautifully.
I make my own kimchi once or twice a year in 3-5 gallon batches (so think one of those big hardware store buckets, if you have a hard time visualizing volume), and we like to do the following:
+ Kimchi burgers -- lightly seasoned beef patty, mozzarella/muenster/oaxaca cheese melted on top, and a handful of warm (but not cooked) diced kimchi on top of the cheese. Any bun you want
+ Kimchi egg salad -- regular mustard/mayo boiled egg salad, but with diced kimchi tossed in
+ Kimchi mac n cheese --- 1lb dry pasta cooked in 2qts whole milk, stir in 3 heaping cups of grated cheddar when the noodles are just shy of done, add any seasonings, stir kimchi in upon serving. (trying to add it to the whole batch will just curdle the sauce once it sits for a few minutes)
+ Kimchi breakfast burritos -- standard breakfast burrito stuff, egg/cheese/chorizo or beans/mole, but instead of other vegetables or salsa, use kimchi
+ And of course the more classic fried noodles, jjeon, and just eating it plain as a side dish with rice.
