Rider in mind sounds spot on. Demoed this board and think it will be in my collection. Everyone mad it’s not super aggressive. Not everyone wants to try and drive an F1 car all day, it beats you up and wears you out. This board actually made groomers fun which isn’t really my thing but you can just surf the whole way down all day. It’s similar to my hyper (which I totally love) but it’s mellower however once it engages a turn (I’d say it slower to engage so fast turns (trees) I still like the hyper) it just wants to cut it sharper and has like a mellow carve/surf thing going on. It’s like mellow relaxed entry and then just kind of locks in. Rode the 161 which is longest I’ve ever ridden so maybe has an effect.
Whole review I was thinking this sounds like a slightly softer/mellow friend of the Sashimi. Can't wait the Slashimi review to drop, hope they didn't butcher it like the XV.
Do you guys find adding a structured base to Mervin boards makes them ride more similarly to Capita boards, or is the Capita base simply better all around?
If we're talking quality of base material I think the Capitas are superior. If we're talking about the tune itself it comes down to the shop doing it, the pattern used, and how good your tuner is at doing work. There is some serious science to that.
Hi from Switzerland, I know my question is not about the board in the video, but I thought I give it a try. I thought about changing from the hyper to the bsod, gremlin or maybe the deep fake. I don't like the C2x profile with rocker in the middle (got the last Balke Paul one) and i guess I go to hard with carving. I ride mostly groomer, but take the chance for every bit of powder. Right now I’m leaning more towards the bsod, because it’s good available here. Thank you and keep going 🙌🏻
i think it would be helpful to do a "better boards in this category" like you do a "comparable boards". just name a few that are similar type but better.
Quick question. Looking at the capita mercury but unsure about the size. 230lbs+, 5'10 and Boot Size 10.5. Can either go for thr 158W, 159 or 161. Could you help me please

Should have gone C3 and we might have had a spiritual successor to the SPAM.
It’d be awesome if it was just .. normal camber c2 and c3 is whack

You have comparable, you're fine.
@@AngrySnowboarder 😂 i shouldn't have expected anything else.
Sounds like a c2 not set back camber backslash

This or Nitro Dinghy for pow/carving to compliment my Dancehaul?
Neither, too much overlap, pick something else.
@@AngrySnowboarder what board would you pair with the DH to give me an idea?
Time to go look at a Korua or maybe a Jones Freecarver.
@@AngrySnowboarder funnily enough the local shop suggested both of these. Cheers mate (yes I’m Aussie).
Mervin just ruins some boards with the C2 camber. Imagine if it had c3…
Who asked for a c2 noodle?
