Hey thanks for making this video. Just bought a 2013 CTS coupe today with intentions of doing exactly what you showed. And now I have a step by step guide, specifically with popping out all the plastic parts. :) Good timing! You got my sub. Also will be watching to see what Jeremy Hall figures out with his non starting problem. Being an electronics tech for the last 25 years I can't tell you how many times this has happened to me. Where a particular action SEEMS to be related to the problem that just occurred. But, no. Just a really weird coincidence.

@@tray9416 I actually ended up going with a professional installation place here in my town. Decided I didn't want to tackle doing it on my own. They installed a Kenwood touchscreen and it worked really well. However the CTS broke down and left me stranded miles from home.. the driveshaft bolts broke! It was a big hassle getting it back home, so i didn't trust it anymore and traded it for a Toyota. lol

@@tray9416 Yeah it was a shame. I think the coupe looked so amazing... with the slopping roof line and center exhaust. Too bad Cadillac isn't better quality. But maybe with a heads up you'd have a better experience? Do a pre-purchase inspection and all that. So, what is your 2nd choice if not a CTS?

Great work. Not a fan I know it's better then the no nav 0em unit but I recommend spending a lil more and getting the Tesla style radio upgrade instead it's a much better modern look on the 08-13 cts models.

Took this kit to a stereo installation place and they connected everything, but now the enriornmental controls dont light up and the ac stays on and you cannot adjust anything on the environmentals. Can you please provide some insight as to what the problems is. Somone told me that maybe they forgot to connect the two environmental connections on each side of the unit. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

It is probably because they did not follow the detailed instructions when putting back together the solder board. They either did not plug something incorrectly or get it plugged in all the way

Depends on if you have a digital amplifier or analog amplifier for witch wires to connect

Hi, very informative video thanks, just a few questions… my radio/ nav unit is bad from a jump start , so now all my centre console is dead… nothing works. Fault code UO186 came up no coms with radio. Another factory unit needs VIN programmed in by dealer to work with car!
Does this need a VIN matched to car ?
How good are the instructions for wiring it up with the car?

As far as we know you don't need any Vin matched. The instructions are pretty clear the only thing that's pretty difficult is to know which system you have in the vehicle as far as amplified, bose, premium. Typically we just try to wire it multiple ways to see which one will turn on the sound. It gives you all those wiring instructions

I have a 2011 cadillac cts I I installed a Jensen 710x everything was working fine then my climate control went out I couldn't control it then my radio my mechanic say it's not getting communication to the 2 can you give advice don't want to take it to the dealership if I don't have to?

That seems to be a common problem with these cars if anything I would just try to buy a new dash off of eBay like one that's used or a brand new one that selling refurbished. I would take all the guts out of the HVAC of it and replace it on your car. We had to do this in a couple people's cars when they did not install an aftermarket radio but the HVAC controls just went out. I would just swap over all the controls and display from the new piece you order. We found them for anywhere from like $120 up to $200

thanks for your video, I did everything as you but I used an Alpine I'm getting feedback noise from the speakers it's somebody says it's a ground then somebody says use isolators or insulators I don't know what to do can you help me

Just being honest with you I would definitely recommend not using an alpine head unit. We should have some links below this video description with radios we recommend. I would highly recommend getting on Amazon and purchasing a Sony head unit. You will not have any of these problems. We just recently installed an Alpine head unit and they are having me same problems. Customer brought it into us and we told them not to use it and they're having the same problems you are

Hi! I know this is an old video but I live in Indy and recently got a 2009 Cadillac CTS sedan with no NAV. The interior trim looks almost exactly the same as the one in mine. It doesn’t have Bluetooth audio capabilities (just phone) and the aux port is broken. I used to drive a 2015 Nissan with Bluetooth and a backup camera - which I loved but sadly totaled it in a car accident last week. I’m really hoping to get Bluetooth audio capabilities or Apple Car Play and a touchscreen put in the CTS (back up camera isn’t necessary). What would be a broad/ ballpark estimate of what that would cost to bring it you guys to do? It doesn’t have to be Sony brand or anything as I’m 23yrs old and on budget lol. I’m having a difficult time finding anything online that gives me an idea of cost so I’m not even sure if it’s something that I can actually afford or not

I have a 2010 cts and my speakers work when I play the radio but when I connect to the aux in the middle console I can only hear music out of the drivers side of the car is there a way I can just fix that or do I have to do this

Hello, see this is a rather old video but I bought an 09 CTS with silver set up with Alpine ilx650 and I have a horrible hiss all the time. Is there something I need to add to eliminate hiss? Also need to add retain steering wheel controls

It will probably have something to do with the Bose amplifier. Either you're going to have to have the remote wire which is the blue at the white stripe hooked up because that turns it on or it will be something with your speaker connections. I would maybe contact metra electronics customer service or technical support because it gets pretty hard to figure out

@@jeremyhall1291 I would do it how we wired it in the video if you are running the non-nav unit. I believe there's three different amplifiers in these vehicles so you'll have to try all the different speaker leads to see which one will work the best and sound the best. We have not found a better way of doing it so far
