Exactly. There is no way to spare realistically without seriously hurting each other. Pads are useless as it takes the pain and knockout out of the equation.
Chucks actually aren't supposed to be swung around by one end like that. You're supposed to hold both handles, and you do a snap, letting go of one side, and it will shatter bones in one strike
