This season we went on to do the Double!
Geordie Armstrong was a great man...I met him a good many times as a child.

What a lovely man George Armstrong appears to have been.

Such a shame that Geordie Armstrong died so young - a great servant to the club and a lovely, unassuming guy as well. That Double side was a proper team; no outstanding stars, but such spirit and determination. A great finish by Eddie Kelly and a brilliant header by John Radford too (and did Brian Moore say Frank McLintock had come forward into a shitting position at 3:36....!)

Studio in colour. Arsenal match B/W. Why?

ITV technicians strike in late 1970 saw some programmes (or part of programmes) broadcast in B&W even though colour TV had been around for a year or two in the UK.

Ironically the corresponding game played the season before, was the first time a game had been broadcast from Highbury in colour. Again by ITV’s Big Match cameras.

colourisation may be possible with modern digital computer programs and software. I've seen examples from other programmes originally made in B&W.
